He was literally scared to throw the ball to open guys multiples times through the season. He had lots of chances where he just threw the ball out of bounds. That happened in real life. Those choices change the trajectory of a game and determines how a defense plays against a qb.

People can’t seem to grasp that Young’s deficiencies were, along with having Brown design the offense, major reasons we saw the offensive dysfunction that we did from preseason onwards. They were trying to cover him up and all they could do was outlets and throwaways and screens and the safest shortest stuff they could.

Has anyone EVER heard a coach say that they were just gonna try and get through the year and address his mechanics in the offseason? It seems clear that it was so much worse than they had anticipated.

I have never heard anything like that come from a pro coach about a 1st round pick. Ever.

Only here on the huddle has acknowledging reality become only negativity and or hate.

Remember when you claimed Bryce never worked privately with his receivers last offseason? Then when you were presented with an article and photos showing just that, you called it a fake photo op? Remember continuously suggesting that Bryce is shorter than his official height taken at the Combine? Remember the report that came out about Nicole Tepper wanting Stroud and you saying that was BS that the team leaked so Nicole Tepper could save face?

Most of what we discuss in here is opinion-based, but those are three empirical evidence-based examples that your conspiracy-brain has rejected based on nothing but your feelings…so I think you’ve forfeited your right to invoke “reality”, buddy. Unless we’re just operating in two different dimensions of the Multiverse. But if we’re actually acknowledging reality, you’ve taken coping to new heights. I’ve genuinely never seen anyone work so hard trying to gaslight people into believing that any report you disagree with is automatically fake.

I've NEVER heard a coach say "we're going to put them in IMPOSSIBLE situations" lol Frank also said that. What kind of a coach puts his players in impossible situations ON PURPOSE?? Bryce didn't stand a chance, he will be much improved this season and and some will still want him gone. It is what it is

I don't remember that. If he said that I’d like to know the context because it is not real easy to understand what that’s about.

He said it during the pre season when the offense was looking like garbage. He said they were purposely putting the offense in impossible situations

So they put him in tough situations and he couldn't figure it out? So they probably said he's not getting it let's just play it safe and rely on defense. Cam would welcome the challenge and find a way to make it work despite being surrounded by jags on offense. Do you want the coach to take it easy on Bryce in camp or something? Confused

That makes NO sense lol. Your job is to put your players in the best position to be successful!! The OPPOSING coach is supposed to make it difficult not you lol

    • So happy that LaMelo got the layup to go and *won* the game. How happy he was after the game, that's what a young dude like him needs to keep it going and keep the belief going. If we lose, LaMelo gets blamed, and he's got an offseason to be in his head and hear the noise like the last few years. The season might still have an ugly ending, but weirdly feels like last night was HUGE for this team moving forward.
    • My thoughts on Carolina's post-season run: Obviously, the season began with a below average Freddie Andersen and everyone hoping Kochetkov would pick up the slack, until he got hurt. Enter Brandon Bussi who had a made-for-TV movie type run until the end of the season, when he came crashing back to earth, his save % drops under .900 and the team needs to score 5-6 goals to win games. Freddie has shown signs of a resurgence and Bussi looked pretty good the last 2 games of the season, but both sample sizes are small and questions abound for all 3 goalies. The physicality of playoff hockey will take its toll. Save for a few players, the Canes best players are small, their top 2 lines are small and there's no getting around that. The only way to protect the size disadvantage is a strong forecheck. Allowing opposing teams to establish the offensive zone and create board battles with smaller players will hurt Carolina. The Stankoven line could be a difference-maker. If they continue to play well against lower defensive pairs, it only adds to the depth of the team.  The Aho line had stretches of absenteeism during the season. The Canes cannot afford to have them dry up offensively and leave the scoring to Ehlers and the Stankoven line. If they aren't performing well, teams will simply roll their best lines out on the Canes best playing lines.  If the Canes can get by Ottawa and get some help from Boston against Buffalo, I think they have a legit shot to make the finals. Make no mistake, I think their toughest challenges are Ottawa and Buffalo in the East.
