Unfortunately he's going to be right about Hunter winning the Heisman, even though it should be Jeanty.

The main thing I can't get past in regards to Hunter winning the Heisman is that Colorado couldn't make get into the Playoffs.

No, making the playoffs shouldn't be needed to win the Heisman of course, but in this particular instance, I have a hard way of not factoring it in.

Hunter won't win the Heisman because he was the best offensive or defensive player in the nation, he'll win it because he's so good on both sides of the ball.  But if he's THAT good and impacts both sides of the ball SO MUCH, shouldn't that have made Colorado a better team?

Then add in that Shedeur was also a Heisman contender and will be one of the first 2 QB's to be drafted in the Top 5, and they still couldn't make it into the playoffs, in the first year they extended it out to 12 teams, and something doesn't exactly add up.

I know a team is more than 2 players, but if you have 2 Heisman candidates, one who plays both sides of the ball, you really should be making the playoffs.  When another player is going to end up with one of the most rushing yards in a season of all time, plus he single handedly carried his team to the playoffs, I just have a hard time not giving him that award.

And no Cam.... this isn't an attack on Hunter, I'm clearly saying he's probably going to win the award and what he's doing is amazing, but I'd still have him #2 on my Heisman ballot to Jeanty.  If there wasn't a player putting up the numbers he's putting up this year it wouldn't be a discussion, Hunter wins it going away.  But when you combine the lack of team success with 2 Heisman candidates and a historically good season for a player who dragged his team into the playoffs, it factors in with my vote.

I’d vote Jeanty.  He one man showed his way to the college playoff with much better numbers than the last two Heisman RBs.   Colorado finishing where they did would prohibit my vote for him given the other option.

You can be a Hunter fanboy all you want, but there is no denying there is a lot of logic and sense to my argument for Jeanty winning the award.

Take Hunter off Colorado and they're not going to be as good of a team, but they're still going to be solid.

Take Jeanty off of Boise State and they're not sniffing the playoffs and are going to be closer to a .500 squad.

Voting for Jeanty is not a knock on Hunter

If Charles Woodson's Michigan team didn't win the NC and was more of like the 15th ranked team at the end of that season, odds are Peyton or Leaf wins that Heisman and not Woodson.

No, Woodson didn't do on offense what Hunter did, but he was a better CB than Hunter

I'm not talking about your argument for Jeanty. It's the fact everytime you and I get into a conversation it's about Hunter.

You can't help yourself.

Maybe it's because Hunter and Colorado is almost all you ever talk about on here anymore, so almost any conversation you have with someone is about him/them.

Also if you noticed, my initial post on this wasn't even responding to you, but someone else anyways, but don't let those little details get in the way of your agenda of me against Hunter/You

UNC loses out on the #1 basketball recruit yet again.

Dude chose BYU over UNC.

Hubert gotta go. The school is losing their IT Factor when it comes to basketball. It's been a while since we landed the #1 player in the Nation.

Hubert had a top 10 recruiting class last year with two top 10 recruits. Stop it duuuude. The kid went for the money. He is going to get north of $10 million to play at BYU. The family basically adopted George Lynch through this process and they have close ties to KJ Smith. It was money pure and simple, and if the Utah Jazz's owner didn't pay for the kid he would be a Tar Heel. Hubert had an outburst at the NIL collective meeting at the first of the season on lack of funds. UNC has to get with the times. Having said that, I wouldn't have paid that either for a six month player rental.

If Wes Miller keeps winning and Hubert keeps losing it's going to be an easy decision.

Hubert won the ACC last year, had a top 10 recruiting class, and went to a National Championship in his first season. Wes Miller hasn't even played a ranked team yet and got beat by Villanova. Enough with the Wes Miller slobfest. How did he become a name that you have to hear over and over? Was it by having a mid-tier ACC coach run at UNCG? Man get the f*ck out of here with that! Only thing he can do better than Hubert Davis is make an easier non conference schedule.

To the both of you, they are not going to fire Hubert Davis and underwhelming ass Wes Miller will never be the coach at UNC. Please quit acting like he is Roy at Kansas.

If Hubert misses the tourney this year that'll be missing the tourney in two out of four years. That won't cut it in Chapel Hill. Not on the hardwood.

Wes Miller has built winning programs everywhere he's been as a head coach. I loved Hubert as a player and I don't think I've ever heard anyone utter a bad word about the man as a person. It's not personal in the least for me. I just had major concerns about hiring someone to coach at UNC who had no prior head coaching experience. Just because you're a long time assistant for a great coach at UNC doesn't mean you're equipped to be the man. Bill Guthridge says "Hi!"

If it wasn't for a fluke red hot run to the title game in his first season Hubert's seat would be hotter than the surface of the sun right now.

I agree I am ready to move on from Hubert.  This isn’t a destination now.  I mean his top recruit is #47?  Duke has 4 in the top 20.  Sick of this mediocre crap

I just don't see any evidence of coaching. All of his teams have played poor defense and there's no offensive system to speak of. Our half court "offense" is basically one guy beating the leather off of the ball while the other four stand around. That's why we end up jacking up so many ugly shots deep into the shot clock. When you now have four years of the same thing it's not the players' fault. Bacot's rebounding abilities his a lot of issues. We made a living off of second chance points during Bacot's time on the Hill.

    • Tanking in the NFL isn’t really a thing and anybody wanting to bring the rigged lottery to the NFL has an ulterior motive.
    • I understand where you're coming from, but we need another safety IMHO. Other positions, especially on defense, dont have ideal depth, but to me at least S is the one position we can't stand pat at even when thinking about the future
    • 100%. Nick Scott was awful last year. Like, even for a franchise that hasn't historically invested in that position, it stood out for how awful it was. If he sees meaningful snaps at S again we're cooked.  Maybe he has value for ST, but I certainly hope we can upgrade. Jordan Fuller, who was by all accounts an Evero guy, was almost as bad. Xavier Woods was bad, but not complete garbage. Still did not want him back. Those 3 guys seriously may have been the worst S group in the NFL. And they all were brought in, especially Fuller, as good fits for this system. Everyone knocks the defensive line, and they deserve a lot of blame, too, but so, so many times our safeties inability to tackle let 4-5 yard runs turn into 10+. And it happened over and over and over again if you watch the film. Honestly, Demani Richardson was the only S by the end of the year I remember making positive plays. I have no issue with Richardson being in the mix and/or competing to be a starter, but we still need another S desperately IMHO who has actually played meaningful snaps in the NFL. The only caveat/excuse for our secondary was the fact our pass rush was nonexistent for large stretches last year. Maybe that helps with coverage, but I dont see how that makes any of these guys better at tackling.  I know it somewhat feels like piling on at this point, but I feel 100% confident in saying this was the worst tackling team in franchise history. The 70ish yard pass play we gave up to Jamarr Chase where he ran through and past everyone in the secondary has to be up there in terms of most embarrassing plays I've ever seen. I can't imagine how embarrassed Kuechly must have been watching from the booth... I think bringing back Evero was a mistake, but for a team that has had nothing but change over the past 5 years, I'm willing to see this through. I definitely think we added significantly to the floor of this defense with the additions we made. I dont think Evero has any further excuses if he cant field a unit that can at least somewhat hold their own. Fixing the safety play is going to be a big part of that.
