I remember watching that and thinking it was all built on smoke and mirrors. It seemed obvious at the time.

Felt the same way with the Darnold 3-0 start.

I just hope we have a Cam or Jake like presence drop in our laps again. I pray that if that happens, we have the staff to really maximize and take advantage of it. Obvious, I want 2015 and 2003 years again, but I even enjoyed the years of Cam leading up to 2015. We were in those games, and saw growth year after year. 2017 is the last season it’s been fun around here.
 

Only thing keeping me around is my allegiance to my home state, and me feeling obligated to support the home team.

The thing is, those runs show what type of team you have built and how they can bring out some good stretches for even the most faulty QBs.  We had an alright team around Kyle Allen. 

It's too bad we hired Matt Rhule for the "rebuild" after that year, Luke retired, & they realized Cam was shot.  It was just so much at once.  Not to mention TD & Olsen peacing and letting Bradberry walk.  That was our entire core.  

I don't mind we went out and got Bridgewater (didn't draft a QB immediately), but that's when you can't miss on draft picks.  The Matt Rhule hire, and then the 2021 draft/offseason (missing on 9 of 11 draft picks, including Horn at 9, the Darnold trade, and more) was the biggest wrong turn we made in this death spiral.

Darnold will fall back to earth this year again after 3 games of setting the world on fire... you watch. 

This goes back to his college days. Dude performs well when there's no pressure. Under the spotlight, he folds.

I didn't mind Darnold so much, but I was disengaged with the NFL in general I have large issues with that corporation that runs our national sport. 

It was the picking up the option I think, before he did anything (that was stupid). They are so arrogant that they think they know what will happen in advance.

I do too lol but they won't listen.

I always suspected Luke would have tried to stay if he thought there was a better situation. He didn’t have a thing to prove, and the team was being Tepperized and de-pounded.

I have never been fooled by that dude post-Jets. It's hilarious that people still buy into him.

      Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?

      Didn’t get around to watching this one but looks like Pistons played their starters and actually tried…? Unlucky that they sit vs Magic, etc and try vs us. Hopefully we can beat the Heat and then Magic or 6ers with no Embiid. BUT if not, the NBA really should give us the lottery win this year like they did Mavs last year. Another high pick could be our final missing piece and have us as legit top contenders next year and going forward if we’re healthy. Or trade it for a Giannis type
