At this point I don't know how this is still relevant as the scouting report on bryce is currently one of the biggest misevaluations in history.

Cause that goes to show how much drafting a QB is a crapshoot. And the tape doesn’t lie Bryce was a great college QB.

Because its true.

EVERY QB in the draft is a total coinflip. There has never been a sure thing. That includes lucky flips like Stroud, Cam Newton, and Josh Allen, and unlucky flips like Jameis Winston, Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, and Sam Darnold

There's not a single team in the NFL that can accurately draft QB's. Even the 49ers wiffed horribly on Trey Lance recently

Great IN COLLEGE. What you are missing my guy is that when you are evaluating college players you also have to evaluate in the lens of what will translate to the PROs. Thats where the miss is.

I preached it until I was blue in the face leading up to the draft. His college tape screamed "great college player who won't translate to the NFL". None of the physical prerequisites were there

The reason its so hard to evaluate QB's because "mental fortitude and toughness" is such a huge part of what makes a QB successful and you can't measure that based on college tape and interviews. For Bryce, he completely lost it over the course of the last year. Yes, he's small and doesn't have the biggest arm. But even with that he could be a competent NFL QB. He's completely broken mentally, so he is the worst QB in the NFL.

Situation has a lot to do with that as well. It's why I don't buy that CJ Stroud would be this good as we are seeing tonight if he was drafted here instead. This isn't the NBA where a superstar can go somewhere else and be just as good. NFL has a ton of moving parts.

    • Has anybody actually said anything of that sort? (if they did, I missed it) I get why some folks rely on stats. I don't, and honestly I'm not sure why people keep trying to convince me I should. (it ain't gonna happen) 😕 Consistency is my big thing too, and the lack of it is why I want to move on from Bryce. But again, that's an argument I make without denying that he can indeed play in (and yes, win) NFL games. Hating bad QB play is fine. Denying when you see good QB play is silly. Let's be real for a second... This may not be you specifically, but there are some folks for whom Bryce can do absolutely nothing to win their approval. Some are always gonna want a bigger / stronger / faster / more athletic (in some cases, Newtonesque) quarterback even if Bryce does start to play consistently. At that point, they'll just shift the argument from "we can't win with Bryce" to "well, we can't keep winning with Bryce" 😖 You know all this as well as I do. So again, I want to move on from Bryce as well. I'd happily (hell, merrily) keep him as a backup, but I doubt there's a realistic path to that happening. But no matter what, I'm gonna keep my debate points based in reality, and I'm not gonna be responsive to "he just sucks" level persuasion. Is any of that unreasonable? 🤔
    • Apples and oranges.   No one is coming for Jon Snow and the neutral party when they compliment Bruce when it is just normal talk about a game.  Which is the literal picture you are trying to paint above.  I mean that’s exactly what you argued. if you start a thread that is about the future of the franchise at QB going forward at QB and what we should do or are thinking! Yeah, the anti Bryce crowd is going to very vocal on that thread because the literal topic is extending Bryce and the future at QB (which is what an anti Bryce position is literally about.  Moving on.  The future) This thread? I literally called out people in their feelings wanting to make this about Bryce and their hurt feelings eroding over.  You can find where I literally calls them out go make another Bryce thread if they didn’t want to talk Saints and the most relevant thing about them.  And the thread went exactly as we all knew it would.   Bryce deserved player of the week talk for Atlanta.  I have always acknowledged his great games.  A shame there are only two
    • Then the offense will be the same up and down underperforming offense they are this year and our FO are filled with idiots.
