because until today he was told to play him

Made sense though given what they invested.  That he would be defaulted to open up to see if it was just Frank and get it figured out quick

But it all highlights how poorly run we are.  Not repping Bryce all preseason is the definition of a poorly run team.

Biggest fail was not adding a young QB to the mix given how the stage was setup IMO

Interesting decision. I can only think this decision has been made to compete and win games, rather than be patient with Young and see how he develops (ie letting us tank if things don’t improve). Unless of course it’s being done to protect Young rather than break his confidence entirely, but generally speaking when QBs struggle this bad it is difficult to recover (eg Blaine Gabbert).

Holy poo!!!

This is a huge sign that Canales has some balls to speak up to Tepper and tell him what it takes to win!! That's speaks volumes on how good of a coach he could be

I'm not so sure it wasn't the other way lol. Canales said yesterday the QB is Bryce. Then this happens following the supposed "monday meeting"

    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
