Well they didn’t until tonight. Rod flipped Rosy and Svech before the game and the fourth line hasn’t skated together at all.

It makes sense that the third line is the best, it’s been the only constant throughout the preseason.

Chemistry didn’t appear to be there, maybe the Svech - Roslogic swap was  a factor in that. Fourth line Robinson Drury and Blake did play together in a preseason game.

Just a got home from the game. My thoughts.

freddie is net didn’t play bad minus a bad goal….it  just came off flat to the crowd that wanted Koochie from the start.  Rod has a fascination with vets and it showed tonight.   Should have been Koochie. That arena was a thud when he was announced him the crease.

Svech is who he is.  Hell of hockey player that Needs a miracle to score.

Necas…dude didn’t care to be out there.   Looked very un necas like.  He wanted to be somewhere else. He is here. Half assed it.

The team is who they are   Great defense  zero offense  average goalie play

The huge concern is zero offense  Tampa was not good  they were below average     Our guys just can’t score

rods system is what it is    This year is going to take a Miracle in net to win and our “stars” to show up     Tonight was not good     Tonight showed me what canes Hockey 2010-2018 looks like

rod has his work cut out   This team isn’t good   No chemistry   No fire

They had plenty of fire second period, just can’t seem to put it together to score. Special teams was the losing difference.

Typical Rod team.  All fire. Zero goals.  Pucks on net from everywhere has got old.  I’m sure we will score here and there but I watched a ton of hockey over the years.  This team looked mid to lower mid tonight.  Guys just can’t score.  Should have been koochie in the net. The crowd from the jump groaned when Freddie was announced.

First game of the season, replacing many key pieces and building chemistry in a unique system. I’ll reserve judgment until later in the year but I think we all knew this was going to be bridge year. It’s going to be frustrating but I have faith Rod will have em’ in the mix by spring.

Ok, so after reading it looks like only 10 games that are nationally televised wont be on Bally sports and Bally will are the other 72, so I might be alright. Just weird people in NC cant see the home team on a basic cable subscription for the 1st game.

Did they let Necas play center at all?  Really, TBF I don't think it would really matter that Necas is playing C with KK on the wing.  Let's let Necas see what he can do and hope he will be more engaged.

I think this is Andersen's last season and that's why he got the start.  I think King Koochie sees more games than Andersen.

It was always going to be a different Canes team, not surprised that we looked out of sync.  There's hope with this group though, the game was really 2-1.

I mean it's one game and the guys need to build chemistry, I'm not taking too much from it.

The Aves and Oilers are both 0-2 heck the Oilers have been outscored 2 to 11.

The Predators are also 0-2 (need chemistry)

I know we won't be as good as the last few seasons but I highly doubt we miss the playoffs.

    • Per Bill Barnwell  Broncos part ways with a CB on the roster bubble Broncos get: 2026 seventh-round pick Panthers get: CB Damarri Mathis The Broncos have a rare problem among NFL teams: too many cornerbacks. ESPN's Jeff Legwold projects they could move on from Mathis, who was very good as a rookie in 2022 before losing his starting job after the defense's slow start in 2023. He played just 27 defensive snaps after Week 6 that season and 80 more across 10 games in 2024. With the Broncos using their 2025 first-round pick on cornerback Jahdae Barron, they could justify moving on from Mathis, who might not be active on game days even if he sticks around. Mathis' best season came with defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero in Denver, and he hasn't been able to reach those same heights since Evero left for Carolina. The Panthers are set with Jaycee Horn, Mike Jackson and nickel corner Chau Smith-Wade as their three starting corners, but Mathis could push the 28-year-old Jackson and serve as Carolina's primary reserve on the outside. Mathis is owed $3.4 million in 2025, so Denver might essentially buy a draft pick by eating some of that cash, similar to what the Commanders did when they sent running back Brian Robinson Jr. to the 49ers.
    • They can get fuged for a 6th and 7th. Doesn't make sense for us for anything less than a 4th and them paying a majority of his salary.
