He's 1-5 and just thrown the worst pick you're ever likely to see.

Yeah im not talking about his game. I'm talking about the huge contract they just gave him.

They are not taking a QB in the draft until Lawrence eats up most of the contract which will be at least for a few more years.

They are in the Daniel Jones situation.

Drake Maye career is going to end before it even starts lol

1-3 for 8 yards and a INT.

Sheesh! @LinvilleGorge pray for your boy.

That's the worst situation in the league by a long shot. Playing Maye right now is just Tepper level dumb. Watching them play it was clear Brissett wasn't the problem. You brought him there to take this beating so your rookie didn't have to. Don't panic and change the plan now.

Saints 5th round rookie QB, in his first ever start, looks better than Bryce in his 2nd year after we gutted the defense and threw everything into O trying to help him.

Just posted the same.  But again, I think it goes back to the criteria I look for in a franchise QB (which doesn't have to be a #1 overall pick) - can a guy make plays for himself AND others and create plays that aren't there when things breakdown?  Does he make those around him better?  Bryce is like the antithesis of all of those traits.  poo is embarrassing that we had a office full of so-called experts who decided to fug over the whole trajectory of our franchise for a guy who can't couldn't excel as an NFL QB if he was throwing to prime Rice, Moss, and TO, with a fuging all-pro starting 5 OL.

And Rattler isn't just marginally better- he is fuging markedly better, and playing with way less.

Rattler, drafted in the 5th round...  also a better starting NFL QB than the piece of poo we traded DJ Moore and draft picks for to take #1 overall.

I watched a bunch of Rattler at Carolina.  He's solid.  Glad to see him getting a chance, even if it is with the Saints.

It's hard to look around the league the last couple seasons and find any QB that has shown less than Bryce. Honestly.

    • I wonder if they'd consider trading Rasheed Walker to a team that needs tackle help but missed out in the draft?
    • LOL. This is such a Panthers fan take.  Anyone who falls to us must suck because some other team didn't take them before.  We got lucky with Lemon, Thieneman, and Freeling all falling to us (honestly any of the three is a A+) but the WR and S positions are much deeper than the LT position in this draft.  We got the LT w/ the most upside at 19.  Mauigoa played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the nfl.  Spano played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the NFL due to short arms.  Blake Miller played RT in college and is not as good as Freeling.  Proctor is a true LT but his ability to handle quick edge's worries me (see Icky).  Freeling is a true LT and a gifted pass protector.  Many think he has a very high ceiling and will benefit from not having to start right away.  This is how you build a franchise.
    • After watching Cam get killed for years behind a bad Oline and having to watch the 2021 and 2023 Olines I will never complain about this team putting resources into that spot.  We got a true LT who could really push Rasheed Walker for the day 1 job. Go back and watch Iceky's draft profile from 2022 and all the talk was Ickey would be an all-pro guard in a zone blocking scheme, but he could play LT in a gap power run scheme. That's why Ickey looked really good when Wilks took over and we just started running gap run plays and just mauled people up front but under Canales we've been more of a zone running team. Ickey can survive at LT with his pass blocking but his true strength will always be his ability to just move guys in the run game and that's a skill set that's better used at guard.  Take another OT later on day 3 to learn from Moton to take over RT in a couple of years and let Walker and Freeling battle it out for the day 1 LT job then next offseason trade one of Hunt of Lewis and let Ickey move inside to guard.
