Can something be done about this referee bias against the Panthers?

I can't believe people truly believe these things.

I coached high school basketball for almost 30 years, and the number of fans who thought the refs were biased towards certain teams always made me laugh. Referees are human, and some of them aren't very good at their jobs, and an individual official might be more apt to call a certain style of play a certain way.... but goodness people. To think there's this mass conspiracy against your team is just silly.

That's what happened for the Saints no?

100% that happened to the saints that was a very odd season seems the nfl always gets very convenient nfl story lines.  The chiefs have always been good but since taylor swift has arrived they seem to get every single call.

So your theory is that the NFL is fixing games and risking a literal license to print BILLIONS every year if anybody found out because Taylor Swift?

This argument doesn't hold up.

2024: 2nd least penalized.

2023: 14th

2022: 7th

2021: 24th

2020: 29th

2019: 15th

2018: 32nd

2017: 27th

2016: 18th

2015: 12th

There isn't a real pattern here. They were a top 10 least penalized team in 2022, as well. Long before the Swift nonsense.

Also, the fuging idiots who watch because of Taylor Swift don't know or care at all about the game being played.

I think least vs most penalized doesnt work.  More attention needs to be paid to when the penalties are called and if they effected the outcome of the game.  One call can decide most nfl games if you extend a drive or kill a drive.  I remember watching a panthers game a few years back the other team was penalized way more than the panthers but all the penalties happened at times that basically made no difference, but then the panthers lost on a bad pass interference call at the end that decided the outcome but just looking at penalties it seemed opposite than what really happened during the game.  Everything goes back to money and rich people always want more.  In baseball, soccer, and basketball refs have been bought and paid for to change the points spread for gamblers.  It would be naive to think the same has not happened in the nfl to some level.  Maybe its just coincidence that certain things happen.... but there is always the famous quote no such thing as coincidence...

I think you are really trying too hard to make a narrative that makes very little sense. Did the refs block a GW FG?

Or, IDK, it could be that is a great football team filled with great players and also great coaches?

They can 100% influence gamesand it's perfectly legal. They are an entertainment industry no different than WWE. There's only so far they can go due to the players themselves, but refs can absolutely kill drives, make timely bad calls, etc. As long as they don't cost Vegas to lose too much, or make it to obvious no one will say a thing.

    • You literally did it right there and didn't even remember it. Sorry long Friday.
    • TMac to finish up Feels good after pads came on. Physicality is a little different, playstyle is a little different. Refs let the players play, so he has to earn his stripes to get calls and just has to be better playing through contact. Focusing on staying confident and listening to coaches. Not much has changed for him, still trying to be his authentic self. Was asked about boxing practice he was seen doing. He's done that since he was a kid because his dad was a boxer and taught his siblings. Was the youngest and got beat up the most, but now he's the fourth of sixth children. Boxing helps with his cardio and being reactive with his hands to the ball + DB. Admits to struggling the first couple of days, hats off to the DB corps for making him better every single day but had his best day on Wednesday. Even the best get got. Just have to remain confident in preparation and abilities. Confidence will take you only so far, and that's where his resilience plays a factor. XL is authentic and great to have in the room. Can rely on him to be the same guy every day. They make each other better. Everybody feeds off of each other and when one person wins they all win. Happy to be a part of the receiver room. Was asked about how he was laughing harder than everybody else at XL getting his feet in the water off the back of the boat: "Man he needs to be stopped bro... He can't be serious but he was serious. It's all good." Playing against the increased amount of press he's facing in practice is helping him get more physical. His job is to catch the ball, so if it touches his hand he has to come down with it. Only catches with one hand if he needs to, but that gives the QB a bigger catch radius. Had a pregame routine where he did a 360 one-handed catch, but doesn't do it anymore. Working on being a pro: Getting into the facility early and getting treatment, eating better, etc. Just wants to win re: rookie goals. Anything he can do to help the team win. "I'm looking for to the season man and keep pounding."
    • DJ Wonnum up next Felt the defense came out ready to work at all levels and took over practice. New standard around here. Young guys have to know they're coming in to work. Last year was not the standard. Nic and Princely are fun. Different personalities but loves what they bring to the room. Sky is the limit for them. Nic sits next to Wonnum, Princeley sits next to Jones II. Allows them to be better mentors. Feels great and ready to go Incoom's athleticism allows him to bend and get low even to compensate for not being the biggest guy. Can set the edge. EDGE guys are helped when the ILBs can get home because it allows them to be a little more free while still in scheme. DB being back means his dominance is back. Can set the edge from the 3 or wherever he's at to make the runs bounce to the EDGE guys. Winning mentality and standard this year. Championship level from practice to how you live off of the field. Accept greatness and excellence with guys wanting to come to work every day. Not settling for anything less. Been in guys' shoes that are fighting for roster spots so he knows how to address them. Remembers not knowing what's next, especially as a rookie. Have a clear mind and ask the older guys a lot of questions. Has a good relationship already with Pat Jones II due to knowing each other and talking football all of the time. Can make hand gestures and know immediately what to adjust. Taking care of his body and excited to start the season. Getting it acclimated to football again by being able to tackle and bring players to the ground. Didn't know they were playing live tomorrow. Don't tell me it'll be "thud." Browns next week will allow them to hit somebody else and get a feel of what a different team is doing. Also allows the team to see where they're at on offense and defense. Ready to play football. Not worried about the QB matchup for Cleveland, going to play hard regardless of who is back there.
