Apparently he asked to be released and they granted his request. Maybe he just wants a break b4 deciding the next chapter of his NFL career, if there’ll be one.

Because they literally had him playing safety on the practice squad.  He knew his QB days were done at that point

If true, that's just disrespectful. And intentional.

Oh this is very true and Very disrespectful, and I'm not bashing Bryce but this is a good example of the Not For Long league. You can't underperform 2-3 seasons and expect to have a job. His leash is just as short better lock in these next few games.

Wow, I’m not sure how to think about this one. Our number one draft pick Bryce Young’s is starting to show signs of a life.

My first thought is, why would we want another team’s reject.   If the Panthers style of play is the same as the New York Giants style of play then, not just No but, Hell No!

I did not like the way, Andy Dalton played at New Orleans. Daniel might be good as a back up quarterback. I think careful consideration must be made before making him a starter over Bryce Young.

The NFC south is still up for grabs.  The first place team is what, six wins and four losses. I am glad I do not have to make these decisions.

I think he does not have to pass through waivers as a 4 year vet. That makes him a vested vet and he is released outright to free agency.
So I don’t think there are contractual obligations attached. But I am frequently wrong about poo.

This is too sudden for us to get involved I think, at least right away. Now watch that be wrong too.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
