Young played well.   Mistake free.  But still need competition for next year.  The cardinals committed so many penalties i was wondering for a while if they wanted to loose.  Hubbard is looking better and better though.  I would love to see young have a 300 yard game or 2 to finish the season .

Seeing a 300 yard game, and 2 to 3 TDs passed would give me a bit more confidence.

But then some here would say it's against trash teams, at the end of the year, garbage time, etc.

I'm with you. I'd like to see him get more yards passing. But like everyone knows, we basically have one legit receiver in Thelein and he's not going to get YAC. He's a fantastic possession receiver, but it would sure help to have someone else that's a threat to catch a 5 yard slant and take it for 30.

I don't know if we can win big with Bryce, but going all in on a top QB in the draft isn't an automatic formula for playoff success. Aaron Rogers is one of the most talented quarterbacks of all time, played most of his career for one of the premiere franchises in the league, and he's got one ring. Dan Marina is (in my opinion) the greatest thrower of the football of all time, and he never won a Super Bowl.

As opposed to what? Having a game manager QB and making every other position a probowler?

Tom Brady skews the reality of things.  By a lot.  Mahomes now by a little.

Rodgers got them to the postseason 11 times and won more than he lost.  Peyton Manning really just has 1 too.   He was warm body gifted a farewell gift.  Just trash for his 2nd.

I think you a basically want your QB to get you to dance about 4-7 times.  That’s a good QB.  How the dance shakes out depends on so many things.

It really depends on the rest of the team from there. A top 5 defense and a good running game will usually get you over the top. Coaching will also play a large role.

Since the benching, he's been playing pretty damn well. That Cowboys games scared me into thinking he may have reverted to his earlier self from his first 18 games of his career, but wow does he look much better.

17/26, 158 passing yards,  65% completions, 2 passing TDs, 0 INTs . 5 rushes 68 rushing yards, 13.6 yards per carry, 1 rushing TD.  HELL of a day. most important stat. NO TURNOVERS vs 3 total TDs he accounted for.

And this is coming from a Bryce Young hater. He hasn't converted me yet to believing he's the long term answer, but he's made huge strides in making me eat crow.

I saw some pin-point throws today and over the last few games that have been really encouraging. I saw him complete a pass while taking a gargantuan hit and get up and smile. I saw him running around like he was Kyler Murray today lol.

If this dude can get us out of the mud next year and lead us to a winning season or playoff berth. I'll officially be a Bryce Believer. Until then, lets just say im cautiously optimistic.

no one knows what young will end up being.

it will take minimum 5 years until we have some clarity.

random games mean nothing. even singular seasons mean nothing.

to be that guy, young is gonna have to play good and consistent over seasons.

158 passing yards is pretty lack luster.

i like bryce and our coach. still got some hope for them.

Agree.  I’d add Injuries too.  But a good QB over the course of a full season largely can get you to the dance more often than not.   And heck, just getting a little lucky comes into play often once your in

Injuries can derail a season for the best of teams. If you are a mediocre to bad team even a few injuries will kill you.

Brady and Mahomes are just anomalies amongst the great QBs

Brady has more rings than Manning, Rodgers, Brees, Marino, and on and on combined…..not because he is in a different league than them but the teams he was on were vs theirs.  Better coaching, defense, etc.

    • We need a Sam Off Ball Backer to pair with Lloyd. Lloyd is a strong Interior Will especially in Pass Coverage- but that is also Trevin Wallace’s archetype. Need a Rozeboom style run stopper. Rodriguez and Allen fit that
    • There aren’t that many ways to screw Day 2 up.  That’d be them making an obvious reach, or selecting at one of the few positions that we are pretty solid at. Because as excited as we are for the growth and improvement this team is showing, it’s still not an overly talented or deep roster. Honestly, there aren’t really many positions I’d feel bad about. Feelings about Bryce aside (because we are not going to select a QB), it’s really RB (bad positional value) and that’s it. I guess OT too since we grabbed Freeling in Round 1.    While not as high on my wish list as other spots, you can justify WR or TE.     Interior offensive lineman who would likely take over an interior spot either this year (at center) or guard (next for cap casualty of Hunt or Lewis)? Fine by me.   Dlineman? Yes, that’s a highly rotational position and we have zero quality depth.    ILB? Yep, could stand for an upgrade over Wallace.    EDGE? Absolutely wouldn’t hate another option to spell Phillips, Scourton, and Princely.    FS?  Would love to add better coverage skill set to the backend of the defense. Moehrig and Ransom are great in run support but not as good deep. Adding a more traditional FS would allow us to mix and match/run some 3 safety sub packages and or a big nickel type look with a SS down near the line for better run support in possible pass downs.    CB? Could stand to get better at nickel.
    • Sounds like Veesaar is entering the draft. He could always test the waters and pull out and return but without him our big men look like a serious liability. Better do something in the portal. If they don't do something about this portal madness my days as a college sports fan are probably numbered. This bullshit of having a nearly entirely new team every season is gonna get old fast.
