Depends on workouts/combine/etc. I suspect he will end up in the last first to early second range.

I suspect his numbers won’t jump off athletically but he’s a damn good football player

IDK. I would say his his floor is higher than almost anyone mocked ahead of him. Most of the guys mocked in the top 15-20 as DE/EDGE guys have astronomical bust factors, IMO.

This so much. Gotta stop drafting potential based on athleticism. Need an edge that will be consistently tough against the run and consistently pressure the QB. Rather have that guy than a 14 sack guy that disappears for 9/10 of every game. Need football players. Not crossfit champions.

I like Gillote. Isn't he going to be at the Senior Bowl?

Yeah I believe so.

I like a few things about his game:

-Great run defender, good awareness to break off engagement and quickly move laterally.  His twitch and quickness is legit.

-Moveset: has a nice swim, power rush (against guards and tackles).  Good bend but he just thrives in the trenches. His power seems to be a top strength which I like for us.

-Good size and provides versatility.  He's 6'3 275, and a quick dude.  Evero tends to flex in guys like Clowney in nickel packages which we could do with someone like Gillote.

-Combining the high motor, strength, size, quickness, he easily has 3-down ability.

Overall, he's the type that will get a us pushing OLs backwards quicker.  Need that type of EDGE who isn't afraid to go at it in the trenches.

    • When we have everyone playing like they should, we can win the Cup. That has been the biggest problem when we get to the playoffs, but this year seems to be fixed mostly.
    • Here we go Bryce Stan’s you should love this. Hell it may be one of you.  It has every cliche excuse and then some.  Unintentionally hilarious my limit was reached when he said Bryce had it hard because four play callers.
    • Luke goes in to the specifics of what he looked to accomplish in joint practices.  Basically they may work with someone on the opposing team to stress something they feel is a weakness in their own game in a different way that can be done with someone they are familiar with. That they can have predetermined stresses but since neither wants to get injured and it has absolutely no bearing on anything there is not the level of concern that would be in a preseason game.  He would also even chat with opposing OC.   It seems like an interesting nuance among the vets and savy pros.
