Fans would not do great in free agency, however sadly a lot of fans would do better than many front offices in the draft by simply using something like Brugler’s draft guide. It is shocking how bad many front offices are in the draft. The overthinking and over analyzing is at its peak.

It might actually be harder to fail as badly as they have than it is to be simply mediocre.

I said that with Fitterer. If you looked through his picks and the trades where he gave away picks, you would actually wonder if he was a plant from Seattle intentionally trying to make us a worse team.

In the past 7 years we wouldn’t have had to TBH. We would have been better off realizing we lost Cam, Luke and many others. It was time to do an actual rebuild and save the cap space so we could keep our “good” (huddle consensus) draft picks like extending Trey Smith and Creed Humphrey instead of having cap space to burn since the long snapper and TMJ didn’t work out. Also, have enough cap space to keep some offensive weapons like CMC and Moore because we don’t have to trade up for a QB or didn’t have to “recover” picks lost in poo trades.

One other note here is that, the consensus huddle would have jumped at the chance to get two 1sts and a 2nd for Burns. That alone would have been the best FA/trade move made in the history of the Panthers. It is 100% indisputable fact that a huddle consensus GM, from 2018 to 2024, would have done way better and we’d have a playoff contender right now. Maybe not a SB/NFC winning team but likely the best team in the NFC South rather than a hey we lost close games to the teams in the SB even though our D set a single season points allowed record.

but we stole Terrance Marshall from New Orleans

Scary how bad the TMJ and Mingo picks were and how similar the XL pick seems to be. We’ve seen how Coker and Thielen and heck even Diontae were able to have great games with Bryce and yet we seem to draft these RAC, big, athletic projects instead of guys like Downs and McConkey. It’s almost bizarre but it seems like we got the worst of the Seattle brain trust that just want to find the next Wilson or Metcalf or ignore the OL until it physically hurts. It takes too long even when we finally do something right and then you realize we’ve got a good OL but now we give up 30 points per game.

This draft better be a multi-bagger.

BPA in the first round gives the best chance of getting a potential all pro player. All pro players, regardless of the position they play, elevate the entire team.

Weak on d line? An all pro safety and LB will completely change the complexion.

Weak at RB and WR. All pro center. Boom. Top 10 running game and a QB that keeps the chains going.

Draft out of need is an over-reach the majority of the time.

It doesn’t matter if you draft at a position you’re already strong at. Any all-pro player raises the play of the entire team.

In the first round, it’s usually pretty damn obvious who that guy is, but this team’s kryptonite is the obvious guy.

Hurney picked Kuechly when the team already had Jon Beason. How’d that work out?

I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc.

So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛

Yeah, this is called selective memory. Go back and look at the draft threads over the past decade. It's about 95% better decisions than our FO.

But, by all means, continue to be cucked by poor decision makers. It's clearly working so well for us.

Huddle hive is no means perfect or even great. The point is they would be better than whatever the fug has been taking place the last 6 years. MUCH better.

Plus Im sure it would no include every member, but the best.

This is soo sad..

That's the part the copium crowd are missing. The fact that Huddle consensus is leaps and bounds better than the Panthers FO isn't a point of pride, it's fuging rock bottom.

What did I list that was untrue?

I keep hearing "the good/smart ppl" but uh... who would that be? Hopefully not the same folks that were screaming to ship Bryce off for a scratch off ticket and some jenkem. 😮

And there was a looooooot of them...

Have you not seen the last 6 years of brain drain here? Knowledgeable posters have bailed in favor of other hubs.

Instead of DOGE, you could call it DOPE though. It'd be oddly fitting.

Bryce hasn't proven to be a franchise QB yet, all he has done is earned another chance to prove himself.  The consensus was to draft Bryce over CJ Stroud, I still think that was the wrong move and Bryce still has to prove otherwise.

This smells of Tepper cuckism.

But, by all means, don't let anyone get between you and the penis you so desire.

Damn if only players could play for 50 years.  We could accumulate some real dogs.

    • LOL, I tried to do this also....But I never found enough to make a guess.
    • gosh no one cares about the OGs...   Id list hunt here too, if not for missing 95% of the season.   Best I can say, Tri Turner was the best OG in panthers history if you factor in career length. Wharton was super solid, but never elite. Norwell while having a 1st all-pro, only played 2.5 starting years.    If lewis stays on the panthers and keeps his play lvl at 2025, his path is right there and easy. In 2028 he could be the best OG in panthers history.    Dang if panthers or NFL don't have long great careers.....its sooo rare.
    • All true, Stafford and Mccvay were both talking about "retiring" during those future picks too, I member. In my computer when you make future trade, I feel you have to factor in the worst case or close to it from your side. The big issue for the panthers, maybe even now is that they have not proven they can draft well enough to trade. I know that Dan and company have not traded future picks and they seem to always want 7-8 picks overall. They like to trade 3 picks for 3 picks or 2 for 2.   It would have been great to flip BB for that haul and use those Rams picks instead of the first overall pick...... Verse wise, Jesus what a beast....... Garrett is the top dawg and all, but man this is rough for me. I also noticed this about the panthers they are pedo bears, they like dem young. So a 25 year old verse would have gotten gigged with the panthers. Even with NIL and 6th year, and even coofus fallback, panthers prefer younger players. Monroe Freeling (Round 1, Pick 19 | OT, Georgia): 21 years old Lee Hunter (Round 2, Pick 49 | DT, Texas Tech): 22 years old (estimated) Chris Brazzell II (Round 3, Pick 83 | WR, Tennessee): 22 years old Will Lee III (Round 4, Pick 129 | CB, Texas A&M): 21-22 years old (estimated) Sam Hecht (Round 5, Pick 144 | C, Kansas State): 21-22 years old (estimated) Zakee Wheatley (Round 5, Pick 151 | S, Penn State): 22 years old (estimated) Jackson Kuwatch (Round 7, Pick 227 | LB, Miami OH): 22-23 years old   Tetairoa McMillan, WR (Arizona) — Age: 22 Nic Scourton, EDGE (Texas A&M) — Age: 20 Princely Umanmielen, EDGE (Ole Miss) — Age: 21 Trevor Etienne, RB (Georgia) — Age: 20 Lathan Ransom, SAF (Ohio State) — Age: 23 Cam Jackson, DT (FL)- age 22 Mitchell Evans, TE (ND)- age 22 Horn-22   Fitterererere just turned out to be a awful hire, too green, too willing to please, no sense of what talent looks like on teams other than Seahawks, too much pressure, didnt have the correct network of coaches and FO office people. Kick was herniay leftd him with a bare bones talent to start with and besides taking a bottom level team and improving it, he made it even worse AND trading prime draft picks to prolong the timeline to fix. People forget Dan didn't have the 1st overall pick and 39th overall(that dude looking good for bears) to repair this team. Dan could have traded that 1st overall for a proven 1k WR, 9th overall, future 1st and future 2nd......
