Again though, it's not hiding, it's just what most projected Top 10 picks do these days, they don't do anything at the combine other than interviews and medical stuff and then do their timings and drills at their Pro Day.

Plus, if he really does the Big 12 one too, that means he'll still do 2 testings between that and his Pro Day, what difference does it make if he does that vs this Combine and the Pro Day like others do?

Let's call it what it is, he's a player our fans know we'll consider and they want his numbers NOW, not a month from now, LOL

And here you go, and with Arizona only joining the conference this year and it only being done once before, I also had no idea this was a thing until last night when I saw he wasn't going to be doing the drills today

I don’t disagree but everyone with a brain knows pro days are way more scripted and familiar for the player.  Again…I want to see him run a legit 40.  We won’t get other athleticism numbers but that is mandatory

Y'all are freaking out over nothing. The top prospects not doing drills is the norm these days. Did we see Travis Hunter out there? Cam Ward? Shedeur Sanders? Mason Graham? Ashton Jeanty? Abdul Carter was dealing with the foot issue but probably wouldn't have done drills either.

This is normal. It sucks but it's normal.

Again, he's not NOT running the 40, he's just not doing it at the combine, which has more or less been standard practice for most Top 10-15 picks over the last decade or so.

If he was trying to not run, he wouldn't be doing the drills at the Big 12 combine and/or pro day, he'd say he has a tweaked ankle or something to avoid running a slow time.

Lol. Watch Mc Shay on his post combine youtube not that he knows all. He literally 2 hours after the Lawn Guy said it, a healthy scratch by Tmac makes Golden my #1. Lawn Guy for GM!

Why would we take a future hall of famer when we can take Shemar Stewartt with 1 sack per year but the potential to be King Kong. Ked Woodley music fades out. And the Panthers recruiters go dupe da dupe dupe due da da dupe da dupe.

I really liked the drills they put them through. Iwas more impressed with the catches than the 40 times. Some of the qb's helped themselves as well.

That’s why it annoys me when people, who don’t watch the combine, poos it as just measurements. Sure that’s part of it and the numbers can show you which guys shouldn’t be targets, like Hurney drafting Gaulden in the 3rd when he was the least athletic DB at the combine.

The drills are basically setup to simulate in game athleticism and abilities. The 2019 combine was a perfect example. While it didn’t show Burns’ weakness against the run, the drills showed his elite athleticism which showed on the field. On the other hand, Little looked downright awful in the drills, worst OL by far. There’s a reason why Little started the offseason as a top 15 pick and ended outside of most top 50s. Hurney was still in love and eating a meatball sandwich during drills so we took him two rounds early and traded up to do so.

The movement drills show a lot. Those just don't make as easy a headline as 40 times, verticals, etc.

That said, the combine doesn't erase bad tape. Many workout warriors have been overdrafted because of a great combine.

100% agree. None of the numbers, drills or college tape guarantees anything. Just have to use it all and just because there’s bad tape or bad drills, it doesn’t mean a player’s off the board, it just means when you watch Little’s drills, you don’t draft him until day 3 or let someone else catch the knife. Hurney and Fitterer had a hard time with watching everything and using 1 part of the process to make their picks instead of everything. One year we use PFF, next year it’s RAS and the next it’s coach’s feedback. That’s what happens when the GM/scouts are bottom of the barrel. This is Morgan’s make or break year after a poor 2024 draft.

Took the Nope as you disagreeing with him and then proving his point. Should have started with Exactly. Some of us drink by crackie!

Wait I'm still right how is it a negative to only run at your pro day when it's always faster. Mrs. McMillan will be holding the stop watch. Running at the combine shows the truth vs. BS.

The Nope was agreeing with his last statement that the clocks aren’t the same setup. I get the confusion, but I was agreeing that pro day numbers are BS as everyone seems to improve. Thats why it’s disappointing when guys don’t run at the combine where you get apples to apples. The silliness does appear when a guy runs a 4.39 and someone thinks a 4.49 guy is slow. For RBs or WRs or DBs, the 3 cone and shuttle might be more important. It’s very rare you run straight line for 40 yards. I’ll take a sub 7 3 cone and a 4.5 over a bad 3 cone and a 4.4 for a WR/RB because making cuts and shiftiness is more important to getting open or hitting a hole, etc.

We've been drafting workout wonders for years now. Outside of Bryce pretty much all of our picks on the Tepper era have been guys who check all the measurables boxes and what has the result been? Trash.

There are no prospect evaluations cheat codes but we sure have been operating like RAS is one.

Oh I'm hearing ya but I've started trying to get myself sold at Stewart at 8 because I know how this team operates

He's an absolute prototype of a workout warrior bust. Maybe he'll break that mold but it's highly doubtful. I honestly wouldn't want him at #57 much less at #8.

    • Brother re-check that guarantee...my page shows 30mill.....thats means he's staying in my book for at least til the end of 2026.  Im going to be my normal honest self, besides watching like half of the SB, I didn't know the guy. My guess is Panthers have a "planned model of paying players" and they almost had to spend a chunk of space on a DLman after Dbrown injury season gave them a nightmare out-come of worst D in NFL scoring. Once Milton got above Dbrown payments, they went with the plan B. A player whom the "co-GM" put his name with. Brad said turk would not be a problem off-field and leader, which the Panthers need badly. I dug in with the google-fu, I found out  I also found him playing lots of NT, which was shocking given the small frame. He seems ready for a bigger role and had a great SB too. IDK, I feel Dan Morgan was dead set on not going into this season without more DL depth and its there. The real deal is this, nearly all FA take one year to "adjust". I think turk is trying too hard and causing injuries as a result for his contract. Dbrown called turk "strong as hell" and I know for a fact Dbrowns has insane core and strength numbers. They lift together with the 50 LB difference...... you always lift with a guy who's similar in strength cause you can leave on the 8 wheels, let the other guy lift while you rest and go after him.  I do wish he had a better beginning to his panther career, 3 games for him to do so and it would cover up the low points if he made a few plays.... Again it felt like they almost had to make move/spend $$$ and Morgan was going to have DL depth this season no matter what...My best guess.
    • There's a reason DC wasn't getting calls to be a HC. He wasn't ready. His indecisiveness is infuriating. His lack of awareness is mystifying. He jumped at the chance to grab the David Tepper retirement plan and who can really blame him. Maybe with time he can grow into the job. But we're on year 8 of our 7 year rebuild. I think I'm gonna need a hip replacement before we get a decent HC.
