Joe Person: Panthers really like Mason Graham and Jalon Walker

Its pretty much what I expect a top 5 Pro Bowl Guard to do to a rookie in his first NFL game situation

This is also the exact kind if matchup in terms of players that you SHOULD expect him to dominate. Graham is supposed to be the lighter/more athletic IDL guy that wins on that explosiveness and speed.

If Hunt gets his hands on guys like that, it's over.

Graham isn’t going to win in the NFL by quickness and speed, imo

His rep is much more of a speed/quickness guy than a power guy. He's an athlete/wrestler type. You aren't gonna see him chucking people like DB does for us.

I won't be surprised if Graham disappoints. Maybe not outright bust but never lives up to his draft status. The more I watched him at Michigan the more I came away impressed by the other Michigan DT. I think he might be the real player. Usually when you have two high level prospects in the same college unit one of them ends up getting fraud checked in the NFL as being largely carried by the other guy. Peppers and Ryan Sims at UNC comes to mind. Lavar Arrington and Courtney Brown at Penn State, etc.

I didn’t view him as the top 10 pick everyone else did.

Watch Derrick Brown or Jalen Carter’s college highlights. Those are top 10 worthy interior DLmen. Graham isn’t that imo

I agree completely. Good prospect, not great prospect.

This last draft was so overhyped. The only draft I can remember with comparable unearned hype was the covid draft and even that wasn't as bad as this year because everyone knew the covid draft was warped vs this one being normal ass being sold as gold.

I wouldn't say overhyped at all. It was incredibly deep but light on elite talent. That was literally the story the whole cycle.

One preseason game is obviously enough to grade an entire draft

The guys at the top is what gets churned over and over again at draft time. They tried to make anyone going in the top of the draft stand out but the depth looked way better after their personal 'buts' were discussed. It was what, 2 guys and then basically guys you would see at the end of the 1st or 2nd in most other drafts?

Lol. How about sitting through a draft process completely underwhelmed. When you see what you expected it's just the long road to being proven correct.

    • I can say that I have defended Canales because I get that they are doing all they can to keep from looking like idiots for drafting Bryce, from the trade up to signing $150m guards to drafting XL and Brooks etc---nothing seems to work.  And Hiring Canales was part of the Bryce Young rehab program, so so he can't really decide to "move on."  That has to come from Morgan and Tepper. Personally, I think Bryce is due for an injury.  He is small, he is not thick, and he has been a LOT more healthy than most any other QB has who has endured so much pressure.  The thing that bothers me is this---Bryce really does not go through his progressions quickly.  He locks on to his presnap read and stays locked onto him for too long--he seems to fail to anticipate the WR/TE's positioning on the play before the cut--for example, if the WR is running a dig and the CB has his back to the inside of the field, he should be open for a second or less just after the cut.  He seems to wait until the cut has been made before deciding, then checking down quickly while moving in the pocket. OL:  There seems to be a lack of communication--is that on Mays?  Watch this team presnap--they seem a bit confused at times.   I can almost predict the success rate of the play by watching the center and QB before the snap.
    • Anyone else remember back in 2010 when Fox piloted having music under the in-game replays during one of Carolina's games? Not the commercial bumpers but the actual replay clips that the announcers would talk over. Pretty sure it was vs the 49ers. And it was terrible. Point being, Carolina continues being so bad that we get the networks trying things out during their games.
    • Is it bad I found this video more hilarious than pathetic? I am still laughing at that one play where half the people on the field ran into each other and Bryce still couldn't see Chuba wide open... Also laughing at Cade blocking nobody and somehow losing his cleat Man this offense is a poo show
