That doesn't change the fact that Richardsons number one goal is to win. He's not a greedy man.

The CBA and looming lookout changed everything particularly with Richardson spear heading the owner's side to reduce costs and pressure the players to make concessions. There is a competing desire to win tempered by the desire to save money and not pay big contracts which weakens the owner's position in the negotiations. There are many who beleive his desire to win the CBA negotiations has trumped his desire to win especially this year and next.

Who knows about that really?

I mean, TO just came out of the worst quarterbacking situation of his career and said nothing. Smith has calmed down considerably.

It's not probable, but it is possible they could co-exist.

The real question to me is why do it in the first place?

T O is this pre season drama Queen

past Queens were

Brett

Vick

All you here in the news and writers is stories of them and speculations

It's clear T O will only be signed when an injury requires him .

Yet daily the speculation continues .

I'll admit to being one of those who do believe JR's loyalty to the cause (the ownership ranks seeking a new CBA) has taken precedence over the desire to put a winning product on the field. And to further muck things up, a couple players in the draft just happened to fall into the laps of Marty Hurney, John "Lame Duck" Fox and Jerry Richardson that could have made a huge difference this season. Unfortunately for the fans, Carolina, along with the majority of the NFL ownership, had already crossed the line and committed to the cause to the point of no return.

I do firmly believe there will be a lockout next season. I think the majority of owners are already committed to that and I think more and more fans are getting onboard with the reality. Sure, there have been a couple news releases the past days about a possible CBA negotiation breakthrough, but I think it's all a smokescreen designed to keep people on the hook. I believe the owners, whom I happen to agree with on the points of contention in this CBA, made up their minds long before the free agent market opened in February and before the draft that 2011 was to be a lockout season.

Yeah, we just shed everyone on our roster over the age of 30 besides two of our most iconic players and we're going to follow that up by running out and signing T.O.

Florio really should stick to stuff he knows something about like kiddy porn or hair gel.

A lot of folks are actually repeating this. What they don't realize is that Moore is not secure enough to handle the TO rages when he doesn't get the ball. And can you imagine what Clausen would do??? Our locker room chemistry will be an issue as well with less veteran leadership. We surely don't need a cancer like TO.

TO's performance on the field is not worth the distraction and baggage that comes along for the ride.

He is not longer an elite WR. He is an aging WR who can still be productive...not to mention the tremendous number of drops.

Plain and simple, he is just not good enough any more to warrant the headaches that he brings.

Pesonally,I would l would like to see Smith punch TO in his big mouth. Is it possible we sign TO? yes but unlikely.I think we certainly could use a proven number 2 until we see how Lefell developes. There is a huge transition from a college wr to NFL,just ask Jarret
