Chiefs' Xavier Worthy arrested on felony domestic violence charge

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy was arrested Friday night in Williamson County, Texas, on a charge of assault of a family or house member and impeding the breathing or circulation.

Worthy, 21, was booked into jail Friday night by the Williamson Sheriff's Office. Online records did not have any details of the arrest or list an attorney for Worthy, who had not posted bond as of Saturday morning.

The Chiefs said they were aware of Worthy's arrest and gathering information.

In Texas, impeding a family member's breathing or circulation is a third-degree felony and punishable by two to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Worthy was the Chiefs' first-round draft pick in 2024. He caught 59 passes for 638 yards and scored nine touchdowns as a rookie.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

The chiefs need a guy that only looks into character concerns for wr.

You'd probably also need to be looking at the character of their coaching staff too.

Really doubt either will happen.

KC has the crown when it comes to picking players that belong in jail, they stole it from the jerrahs blowboys who still dip into players with rap sheets.....I still member Hardy as a one and the history since Jerry bought them. raiders had a run during als era and they even had that 1st WR who killed a person going 150mph... herry ruggs?

Commish should solve this before a team before this disgusting, long ago fine these enablers in money and drafts picks.

Your last paragraph, sentence, makes no sense.

Seems like somebody posted a graphic of teams with the most arrests recently and KC was lapping the field.

That's was my point mixed with cowboy history that included a former panther. (bonus al Davis too)

Then saying the commissioner should not allowed teams that repeatedly sign/draft players that break the laws to operate without penalties to their wallet, cap, and draft picks.  It's a joke and makes the whole league look bad.

I know nothing of the details of that incident but you can catch this charge by simply placing your hand/hands on someone's throat.

Most states consider this a felony.

Simply?

    • I would say the extremes from both camps in these conversations have to do with the blurring of the fact Bryce is a first overall pick and the expectations for that draft slot fair or not far exceed just being a top 20-25 starter amongst your peers. Regardless. All logical Panthers fans want him to be the answer.
    • The offseason is always when hope springs eternal. If you look past that, you can see a very bad roster with a lot more questions than definitive answers. Let's hope we get a lot of those right, because I think we are a lot closer to another impatient Tepper reset than we probably think.
    • These arguments are getting more and more disingenuous from both the pro and anti Bryce crowd. Bryce looked very good for stretches down the final 8 games. He finally showed glimpses of the guy that was projected as a top QB pick in the draft. Bryce also didn't look like a top 10 NFL QB.  I think we are so far removed from Prime Cam that we forget what an elite QB looks like. I could tell that when people were losing their minds and simping for Sam Darnold. This season needs to finally showcase Bryce as a franchise talent. If that doesn't happen, it's time to pivot. There are very few recent examples of QB's struggling or being a mixed bag through the first three seasons of starting and then suddenly becoming frachise caliber players.
