I am getting pumped.  Love this stuff!  Not what I said to Panther Chris and his pedophile post.  I don't love that.  Everything else?  Yup.  I really want to see how Morgan handles this.  Fingers crossed.

I wonder if Pickens is available now. He's a headcase though

Hell no... saying Pickens is a headcase is beyond an understatement, zero interest in bringing those type of players into the franchise right now, we're still working on re-setting the culture and locker room, no place for guys like him, talent aside.

I'm gonna be honest, these contracts are causing my interest in the sport to diminish. The contracts keep increasing exponentially and so do the ticket prices, merchandise, concessions, etc. while the typical fan is falling behind vs. inflation. I'm a football junkie but at some point I'm going to force myself to to lose interest in the billionaire play things. I'm getting pretty fuging close. Hell, I'll just watch local HS football to get my fix because college football is going down the same path.

The contracts have absolutely nothing to do with tickets, merchandise, concessions, etc.

This isn't MLB where teams need to make more money to pay the absurd contracts some teams give out, it's a hard cap league that is dictated by the leagues revenue, namely the TV contracts.

Increases in costs are from a combined factors of inflation and greed, which yes, it does cause some to lose interest, but it has nothing to do with the ever increasing massive contracts.

When has Pittsburgh ever produced a head case WR?  Never has happened.  Seriously, they must put crystal meth in their jugs machine.

Here’s hoping the Steelers fail miserably. Lot of egos in that WR room.

My biggest ?, is why is the best WR drafting team trading their 2nd and swap lates AND giving 130-150(??) for a WR without a QB??

DK averages like 77 recs and 950 yards with like 6 TDs.... Pitt has owned the draft when it comes to selecting WR, yes some turn into legit clowns, still confused by this.

Maybe the heat is getting to Tomlin??

I don't see why pitt would do this, use that 2nd or 5th and find a stat clone of DK like they always do.

Panthers looking at bills recent 1st round bust. This is one of the those elm+6th for Panthers 5th type of deals.

I keep feeling like Michael Jackson is gone before reading this stuff.

Looking at other teams failures instead of drafting your own studs? Man I've tried to be optimistic about Dan Morgan but this is way too reminiscent of Scott Fitterer.

I cannot join the dog pile for Morgan on this. Im a 100% sucker for recent former 1st rounder at bargain bin prices.

Maybe he hates buffalo, most people living there do. I know this Mcderp knows DBs as well as anyone and at the time they used a 1st on Elm. He's been in the dog house since.....but a environmental change can have big effect. Odds are low and he's cheap, that's why the price should be low(idk with other teams), but the reward could be a 8 year career as a starting CB. Or he gets cut like most 6th and 7th rounder do....

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
