Let's see how the tune changes in here after Ashton Jeanty is the pick as at 8.

Just kidding.

I hope.

If he is BPA, then go.

Remember when our pick was Abdul Carter? How would that be now?

TMac, Will Johnson the CB?, or that Tyler TE dude, or trade back?

The guy that broke Barry Sanders records coupled with Chuba behind an actual line? That would suck.

i get it the defensive line was bad really really bad last year .however ,I think & anyone would agree that had alot to do with Derrick Brown not playing basically the entire season last year  .& so my point being I think yes we overreacted & as a result over spent on the DT position while all at the same time the answer was already on the roster / injured  (Derrick Brown ) & with as many holes as there is on this team right now that money could have been allocated to obtain other resources ...just saying

These moves probably mean they plan to give Derrick Brown less snaps every game. He's in the game 99% of the defensive plays. That's way too much for a defensive tackle/end his size. Definitely think they overpaid a couple of guys, since they'll mostly be rotational and situational. Unless it works. Then they paid the perfect price.

I don't see how anyone can be disappointed with him at this point.  He took on a complete dumpster fire and in a short amount of time, has the Panthers playing respectable football again.  No GM hits on every player and so far, he's hit on some good ones and if this continues, the Panthers have something to look forward to.

The Huddle complains about everything these days.

I don't think he has been bad, but there definitely are some reasons why he has been sort of underwhelming. Regardless, still will need at least one-two more seasons to fully evaluate him as GM. I will remain optimistic, as this draft he has the chance to trend more in the right direction.

Oh good grief. You can give him credit for the good without just glossing over the bad and pretending like we were not absolute hot garbage at certain points last season when the games still mattered and people were just complaining to complain. Make no mistake. While we hold Morgan in regard and like him a great deal because he's a former franchise player. He has to prove he can build this team through the draft just as much as any Panthers coach or player has to prove it out there on the field. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging these plain truths.

Morgan has been a bit underwhelming thus far, but I'll give him another offseason, draft and season before I begin to form some hardening opinions about him.

It appears a few here are half-way I praising him for his work in free agency. I don't mind paying or maybe even overpaying a little bit (that's a Panthers tax for sucking for the better part of the last decade) for a bonafide star like Robert Hunt, but I feel like he didn't have to pay Tershawn Wharton or Patrick Jones II as high of a number as he did.

We'll see what he does next month on the 24th-26th. Then we'll see what it all boils down to throughout next season. I can't exactly love him or hate him, but as a former Panther, he still has some goodwill in the bank.

He'll be fine if he doesn't try to be the smartest person in the room during the draft. If you need a pass rusher, draft the best pass rusher. If you need a WR, draft the best receiver. If you need a Safety, draft the best Safety. Don't focus on a guy you like because of... reasons not related to actually playing football.

Guess who “won” the panic award? Real shocker. Easily the worst contract handed out on defense

    • We have taken two TEs in three seasons I think, and Sanders may not pan out or it may have been a sophomore slump, but we took a guy last year that was coming on.  I am not in favor of TE in round one and really don’t consider it a high priority in any round.
    • Trevon Moehrig, Turk Wharton, Bobby Brown, Jaelen Phillips, Devin Lloyd, Nic Scourton Giving him 6 starters in 2 offseasons that cost boat loads of money or a 2nd round pick... Not exactly handing the man scraps. The point of the draft is to make the team better. You want to make this about Bryce. It isn't. It's about improving the team. And if anyone can look at our offense and go "we're good", they are lying to themselves. You give quarterbacks weapons. We SCREAMED for YEARS to give Cam some help. But now because we are trying to do it for Bryce, you all are saying we are coddling him because of his "deficiencies". It's a double-standard because you don't like the guy, clearly. But even if he does fail, guess what? The next guy has help too. Win-win.
    • we have 2 solid/above average (however you want to phrase that) wr's, which is more than half the league at least.  We dont need to be blowing more first round capital just to placate Bryce and his limitations.   We have one absolute stud (probably top 10 wr) in tmac and we have a high floor guy with insane potential if he can stay healthy.  Yeah man we are in better shape than the bulk of the teams in the league.  If you need to add some speed or whatever, sure draft in the mid rounds or wait until tc cuts.  Its monumentally stupid to spend 3 straight firsts on a wr if thats the route they go.  ITs just more and more excuses for Bryce, thats where we are at now.    "How can bryce succeed without a big possession type wr (drafts 2 for him), how is bryce supposed to exceed without a speed guy......."   Its fuging never ending.  Give EE some goddamn help on defense for once
