Given the choice...

Would you prefer a starting LB corps of...

MLB Dan Connor

SLB James Anderson

WLB Jon Beason

or...

MLB Jon Beason

SLB Eric Norwood

WLB James Anderson

(Dan Connor would move back to being the backup MLB)

Not a lot of game tape yet, mind you, but going off what you've seen so far...

Norwood had a good night rushing the passer but it's WAY too early to tell if he's starting LB material. Anderson actually did a great job so I would not move him. The only other lineup I'd consider would be Anderson at SLB, Beason MLB and Williams at WLB. That said, the way we're lining up now (Beason at weakside, Connor in the middle) will be real scary once they get used to it.

Anything that put's Beason back in the middle, Beason just can't cover or stick with the speed TE's, and he needs to be in all of the plays collectively.

On the flip Norwood has excellent speed, and great pass rushing moves. Several instances tonight showed him breezing through chip offs and TE's.

The weakside linebacker is an important player in Ron Meeks scheme. Likely as not, that's why Beason is now in that spot.

I understand the rationale of putting Beason there over Connor, but I was never real high on the idea of moving Beason out of the middle.

Can he still be the "quarterback" of the defense from the weak side? Sure, but being in the middle puts him in better position to be that prototypical "sideline to sideline" player.

To be perfectly frank, I'm just not sure Dan Connor can play that role.

Yeah, it's just one game, but if you put a gun to my head right now, I'm going for option two.

    • I don't think it's a homer though when I really feel this team can beat anyone.  The points that can be scored in bunches when the big three are on has high potential.  Moose has effort for days and IMO is the heart of the team.  And didn't see Miles becoming the team "vet" in the starting lineup just roleplaying lol.   We have to limit the turnovers though (Brandon Miller I'm looking at you bud, you are a bad ball handler) and some little things.   Colby off the bench is a cheat code and him and Kaulk have a nice little game going with the picks.    Sion playing every game and just getting better each game.  He has grit.  Grant and Green also grit.  We need replace Tillman with PJ Hall though.  Tillman looks like someone that shouldn't be on an NBA court, or at least with this team, he's just too slow for this tempo.   Even McNeely looked decent tonight and can drive.   If Kaulk and Moose could even be like 30% 3pt shooters man....
    • 1.) LaMelo 2.) Kon 3.} Miller 4.. Giannis 5.) Moose   1.) Coby 2.) ? 3.) Sion 4.) Miles Bridges 5.) Kalk That squad would win multiple chips.
