I didn't read anything into Cantwell running the two minute drills. I think the coaching staff wanted to give him an opportunity to showcase. I bet Pike gets a lot of reps in the next preseason game. I was at training camp Saturday and it looked like Pike and Cantwell were splitting reps. Personally, I think Pike has more upside because of his height.

For those of you that think Cantwell is better than Vick as a back-up you are smoking crack! How many years does Vick have under his belt compared to Cantwell? Silly just silly.

But you can't count Vick years. They are like dog years but in reverse. He played for 5 years in Atlanta and still couldn't learn the WCO. Even after all this time he still can't run an effective offense.

Bottom line is in the NFL, it is hard to overcome stupid.

Cantwell may,or may not be gone at the end of preseason but i can't see anyone trading with us to get him.

The reason that they gave Cantwell the 2:00 drill was because they want to give him a chance to see if he can really make it on the team. He has no trade value that I can see.

Told you it probably would not happen. But if he plays well in game 2, and there is an injury, never say never. QB depth is rare in this league, and if they see a diamond in the rough., all it takes is one team.. I like him, but he needs another year.

Bottom line is this: What QB who is getting cut is better than Cantwell? Have you seen enough of him playing with a supporting cast to answer? Running with the twos, he has been good in practice. So, if a teams reserve qbs sucked in the preseason, a solid game might be all it takes. Just because a player is cut doesn't mean you will get him. Players are cut every day who are good enough to play on other rosters, but they have to compete with others to sign them. Cantwell is young and developing, and I have to think he has some interest due to his arm strength alone. Clausen is competing with him, and Cantwell is holding his own. Clausen was a second rounder, thought to be top 10 by some. Where is the line? Would they trade us for Clausen? He has only played one preseason game.
