Brayton, Johnson, Hardy, Brown.... Good lord...

How close are they to breaking the sack record in preseason?

What is our sack record for a season?

I agree sacks and pass rushing do not look to be an issue this year, hopefully. Looks like we are all seeing what they meant by replacing peppers with a bunch of guys not just one. I honestly like these guys better, spreading the talent out.

4 quality DE's to swap in and out all game long. These guys will still be fresh in 4th quarters. The Panthers may break their sack record this season, wouldn't that be something?

Our DE's look as if they can make us forget about the former Panther DE end that is presently playing for the Bears.

Let's see,what was his name? Oh yes,Julius Peppers. :)

I'm still kind of in disbelief. I would have never guessed this unit would come out of the gates like this.

It is hard to believe, guys like Johnson who did nothing for years is suddenly playing like a different person out there. Brown is playing with tremendous passion and Hardy looks nothing like a rookie. If this continues in the regular season through the bye we will have seen pass happy and power running teams by then and can genuinely say they are legitimate.

I am still waiting to see if this continues but last's night game surely is a statement.

Johnson was also very young when he was drafted. Remember Fox pulling him from a game his rookie year when his temper got out of control(I forget exactly what he did)? He looks like a completely different player now. And a gnarly beard has never done anyone wrong.

    • Some people will shift the goal posts but he does still have to consistently help the team win, eventually. Not only help but be the reason. That's what franchise QB's do.
    • One of the Carolina Panthers' newest defenders thinks their pass rush can go from worst to first. ESPN's David Newton recently chatted with outside linebacker Pat Jones II, who signed with the Panthers as a free agent earlier this offseason. Jones comes over from an awfully impressive Minnesota Vikings defense—one that ranked first in takeaways (33), fourth in sacks (49) and second in QB pressure rate (44.4 percent) this past season. And despite a historically-bad campaign by Carolina's defense in 2024, the 26-year-old seems to believe his new unit can be similar—or even better—than his last. "I definitely think we could do something similar, if not better," Jones said, via Newton. "I've seen it before, so I know what it looks like. I look around the building and see we have exactly what it takes to do that." https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/05/24/panthers-pat-jones-vikings-espn/83840667007/?taid=683219b347846900018fa10a&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter     It's the offseason.  Let hope spring eternal. (actually, I think we are much closer than this board thinks)
    • 5 total TDs against the Falcons was pretty good efficiency and he showed that ability to go off scripts and get 2 of those TDs rushing.  How many times did he deliver big time throws against pressure.  I agree we need to see this offense operate at high efficiency which starts with Bryce. When he does I hope the goals posts won’t shift to some other stat like QB sneaks lol
