peter king is a jack ass....but people will be excited that he picked us to do well til next week when he says something completely contradictorily to this..

he has maintained a steady constance thus far, he has like us for a couple months now. i dont agree with him on the steelers or giants, but for whatever reason, he does respect us.

He is right about 1 thing, this team makes the playoffs, Fox deserves the coach of the year.

Myself, being a fan, I expect a john fox team to remain competitive...and making the playoffs is somewhat expected.

By others, especially outside of the team, expect us to fail.

If our defense is as good as it has looked in the preseason and our running game is as good or better than it was last year, it's easy for me to see us making the playoffs and going deep.

I can see it happening. Hell, I predicted it before we saw what our defense was capable of (and what our offense isn't capable of).

Finally we get some respect, even if it may be unlikely to some degree. Personally, however, I would agree that our Panthers sneak into the playoffs thus making them so dangerous if we are clicking on a cylinders.

One thing is for damn sure about this 2010 Panthers team, virtually every starter is going to have someone challenging for his spot in practices. Competition is healthy for a young franchise. Our team is going to be hungry and play with speed and aggressiveness due to the young guys having to prove their ability and worth. Whether that means Hardy as the second coming but better Julius, Beason as the best damn any position playing Linebacker in the game, Steve Smith a top 10 receiver the sport has ever known, all while Double Trouble is chasing greatness and planning on engraving their own names as the unmatched best Running Back duo in history. Furthermore, the rest of the team is flying around the field making plays trying to get a fat contract that they will have deserved.

The way I see it, this team and franchise has nowhere to go but UP. Let's all talk a deep breath and take this season in stride. We have too much talent and youth to complain.

I agree, I have been optimistic about the youth and competition since the draft. It seems to have made an impact on defense anyway.

Maybe the offense is just pretending to suck in preseason to lower expectations?
