Non-Receiver Trade Option

The website which shall not be named says the Cardinals are shopping current starting right guard Reggie Wells. Nothing especially wrong with him, mind you, and he's not a wallet buster. They apparently just want Deuce Lutui starting instead.

Can't say I'd mind. Like the idea of being more settled in that spot. Would depend on what they're asking though.

Lemme just say up front, anyone who suggests trading Williams or Stewart should be immediately perma-banned.

(ditto for Clausen) :nonod:

not sure we got the depth to trade bodies. At some point they are gonna need to quit dealing draft picks.

The Cardinals aren't the only team that might be cutting loose a half-decent guard.

A story from the Jags site says that Vince Manuwai, Justin Smiley and Kynan Forney are competing for only two open spots. of that bunch, I'd guess Forney is the odd man out. Forney is nothing special either, but again the question is how he compares to what we have on hand now.

My guess? The team probably goes with what they have (the theme of this entire offseason) but you could argue that if they go outside, the pool of potential guard prospects might be bit deeper than the one for receivers.

Given the issues with Jeff Otah's health, running to the right might be something of a concern early on.

    • Oh I was.  But we still had great players.
    • You keep AT unless he WANTS to get traded to a contender during the season.  He's valuable, TET, XL, and Coker need to learn how to be PROFESSIONALS on game day, practice, and the off-season.  That's what you get from AT.  ADDITIONALLY, he is clutch.  He is steady.  At is that savvy vet who will always flash. I really think they keep 7 WR's if Brycen can operate on special teams.  Week 1 you may see us heavy on WR and OL because of the massive amount of injuries across the league.  Renfrow may even be cool starting on the PS since he lives close and wouldn't need to uproot his family.  You can still make nearly 400K as a vested veteran on an NFL practice squad.  You see more veterans hanging around since the age limit was lifted. I think the 1st 53 and PS looks like so...... Offense: (25) QB (2) Young / Dalton RB (3) Chuba/Rico/Etienee WR (7) T-Mac/XL/AT/Coaker/Renfrow/JHjr/Brycen TE (3) Tremble/Sanders/Evans OL (10) Icky/Lewis/Corbett/Hunt/Moten/Brady/Mayes/Yosh/Zavala/Kingston Defense: (25) DL: (6) Brown/Robinson/Turk/Bobby B/Cam Jackson/Sam Roberts OLB: (5) Wonnom/PJ2/NicSic/Princely/Incoon ILB: (5) Rozeboom/TW/Windmon/Cherelus/Bam CB: (5) Horn/MJ/CSW/Thorton/Evans S: (4) Tre'Mo/Ransom/Demani/Scott Specialists: (3) JJ/Fitz/Martin Last spot: Right now I have it as a toss up between DJ Johnson and Bam.  Until NicSic can come back we need an extra edge.  Do we utilize TW more as a blitzer from the middle to keep Bam safe?  I'm not worried about DJJ getting picked up from another team, a little more concerned with Bam. Practice Squad: DavidMoore/JamesMitchell/JacolbyGeorge/Tuttle/Crumdley/Ray/DJJohnson/Kantra/Carter/Blacksheer/ Wright/KrysBarnes/MichaelReid/Safety pick up/RB pick up/QB pick up
