How good of a coach is Fox really....

Young team, Talent, and we can only score a TD and keep Defenses to 20+ points a game. So is it Fox or the players just not doing as they are told???

Coaching staff that doesn't care

Only 3 or 4 players playing like they're worth a damn this year so far

Fox is an average coach, who's been living off of the Jerry's image to keep his Football team a low risk-mediocre reward football club.

Whenever his coaching has been challenged, the fanbase savagely defends it with his (1) Superbowl appearance. He's stubborn, too nice, and to soft to lead a team full of high-risk players (sans Smith)

Jerry's will to make this team a good, southern, and humble Football team fits almost perfectly well with John Fox's philosophy, but the trick is that he's been found.

And he is not willing to change his philosophy until his time is up.

I think he's a pretty good coach-- not top 5 but I think the league will show that he's well respected when he gets picked up quickly when he's done here.

That being said, it's probably time for a change. The days of 20 yr head coaches like Landry are long gone. Sometimes a change for change sake is a good thing. A little shakeup, new viewpoints, ideas.... good for the players to hear a different voice, good for the fans, good for the organization in general.

So we'll see. He won't be fired during the season so until all this happens he's still "my coach".

Fox has show nothing in the last 2-3 years. The league has passed him by. He was a decent coach 5 years ago, now he's a disaster.

I have seen so many its JR's or Fox/Davidson's fault threads on this board the last couple of weeks but I hate to break it to you but its failure across the board. Hurney has made some bone headed moves the last couple of seasons (Gregory has saved his a$$) Pep and Jake are just the biggest. Fox is the poster boy for bad depth decisions and JR has turned into a self-absorbed cheap prick (at least it appears that way).

I really can't tell you how fed up with this team I am getting. Its like no matter what happens we always end up being mediocre year in and year out. How long have we been trying to locate a #2 WR to no avail? How long is our playoff win drought going to continue? How long do we have to watch the same exact gameplan be played over and over ever week with no change in result? Why is it our QB's are always the most inconsistent in the league?

I say its a big top to bottom FAIL!!

Fox really made a name for himself when he his defense at the NYG shut out the Vikings (A high powered offense) that one year. It was something like 41 - 0. Other than that, he hasnt done much.

If you look at his career and follow his defensive rankings for the team he coached (as a DC), they are just like Janglers graph.. Rather flat!

The NFL has changed a fair amount the past 5-6 years. What Fox does simply doesn't work anymore and he can't do anything else. The way the game is played today in 2010 is simply too much for Fox. That happens.

It just pisses me off that you see teams like Tampa Bay with a interim coach calling better plays and beating us at our own game. I mean its the same poo every year with Fox nothing changes.
