Charlie Campbell Pt. 3

Charlie Campbell changed his pick again, this time from Stewart to Walker. This time what's interesting to me is that we pass on Mason Graham (goes to the Cowboys at 12) and Mykel Williams.

Could Charlie's source finally have left the building and now he's throwing darts? Or does the organization not know who they want?

I like Walker. Not sure if he'll ultimately be an edge or off the ball LB who is a great blitzer but either way I think he's a player. Draft him to play EDGE with the backup plan of putting him off the ball.

My main concern for edge potential (which is the only way he's worth pick 😎 is that he doesn't have an edge build at all.

That's exactly why the Cardinals squandered the early years of Haason Reddick's career after drafting him #13 overall. He didn't measure as an EDGE so they tried to make him an off the ball LB and he was just okay until they finally just said, ya know what... why don't we just let this guy get after the QB? Then he started playing like a guy who would've been drafted #13 overall.

Yea out of all the guys we've displayed public affection for, I think I'd take Walker too.

I'm with it. I get parsons and reddick vibes from him anyway. And he would be the safest pick out of the edge rushers we are looking at. You know this guy is gonna fly around the field hands down. I would look at drafting a more prototypical DE in the 2nd round next.

That analysis of Walker is so contradictory. Need a true Burns replacement which apparently Walker fits? But at the same time he’s too small to be a base edge rusher in the NFL? Walterfootball likes their steaks well done, but not dry.

I guess, where im at, is simply this

a player in the top 10 of rd 1 should be a starter…not a project, not potential, a starter,

….not someone with question marks about injuries, character  or motor

…the film doesn’t lie…RAS scores do…RAS is part of the eval…but it is the film that tells the story

…as this is the top 10 of the best players in college football that grade well in transition to nfl

your  team should be instantly better by the addition

yes, I understand qb is the exception as it is the hardest position on the nfl to play  im  not talking qb here.

If the best player is that TE, take him…if it’s the DT and he is there, take him and don’t look back

Yeah, I'm not trying to say he's a slam dunk and I'm not sure if he's who is pick but of all the guys that there's smoke about us liking, he's definitely the one I'd pick out of that group.

Weak top of the class and we've already narrowed it down beyond that.  Not much to choose from at 8, and I don't think we'll get great value on a trade back because of it.

Von Miller was around the same height n weight coming out too. If it was Walker, it'd be the best option of the edges unless Carter falls some. Otherwise get the edge in round 2 or trade up for 1 that's falling to the back of round 1.

Im ok with this pick, but If Im the Panthers I would try to trade back a few picks as its assumed an o-line run is coming right after us.

We might be able to trade back 3 picks, grade an additional 3rd round pick and still get our guy. I would be trilled for something like that.

Miller was a little taller and a little longer but people make way too much about an inch or two on these measurements.

Parsons is a couple inches taller but his arms are actually shorter than Walker's.Screenshot_20250324-113938.thumb.png.bce667c34f72b3addbb614bb0725a7fe.png

    • lmao that's a good point; but at the same time I think and HOPE Canales learned from how he operated last year, only giving us one real look against the Bills that had people shouting 'Super Bowl'...only to come out flat.
    • I mean the whole defense was trash, he was at least trying. Besides if you put a all-pro among 10 PSers, that all-world will look human. It's very hard to judge very bad units and find the best players among them. Horn and Mjack played well too, there was 0 pass rush and -1777784 run defense.
    • I was looking back and seen Evan Neal has made the switch to OG after awful years at OT.......I wanted him over Icky for his tricep alone..... I was 100% stroud too, I was super pissed about his record setting and playoff leading start......I had arich vastly over the midget BY too. But right now, BY is about the only one on the up&up. The Texans used lots of prime draft capital to help Stroud.  It's still not ready. But if you're honestly about past drafts, these GMs are not alone in making mistakes.  I still feel they should stayed put and allowed Carter to fall in their lap, but best I know Tepper had the worst rage about landing a QB for the past 5 years. The deal is with the correct coaching staff, Baker or darnold would still be here....Baker has signed 3 years for 100 million, which is a great NFL QB contract. Tepper hiring rhule and his shitty Baylor/temple staff was a massive setback given rhule was in control too. Then panic set in an d fitteerererererer had to make a winner and find a QB. Ugh.....I hope they are back...
