Overreact Much?

Moore will be starting next week. Just watched the game. Yes he made a couple of bad decisions in the late 3rd and 4th quarter. But he had players dropping balls too. He 6-16 should have been 9-16. Hard to have a passing game when Davidson is calling run-run-pass.

Moore did fine the pass that got intercepted was on him and the fumbles was all his. But it doesnt warrant him being benched next week. It also did look like he hurt his leg on his last play.

The thing I curious to find out and probably never will is, what kind of leader Matt is. From watching the sidelines yesterday he doesn't seem like the type to get in his OLine and receivers face and motivate them. He seems kind of nonchalant. Allot of people have talked about Moore's lack of confidence, but I think his biggest problem might be the lack of confidence the Offense has in him.

i am sorry man you cant just bench a QB like moore in a close game and then go to a rookie and think its going to be ok to come back to moore the next week......do you really expect moore to play well after that?

No, he is just trolling, trying to start a riot! He didn't get pulled becauses he looked like he played well!

Squirrel is a known Clausen hater, this is a tough time for him :P

Squirrel sure Moore wasn't on defense, but as some have said...he just doesn't seem to assert himself as the leader of this offense. Let's look at Matt Schaub for instance, watching the Redskins/Texans game last night he was firing off calls and barking assignments and people performed them. When I see Matt making these calls he seems a bit intimidated and not confident at what he is calling almost to the point where it looks as if he is mumbling.

That seems to be the main piece of his puzzle to being a quarterback.

moore has lost it. i'm not sure he ever had "it".

he isn't someone that can bring a team back from behind or get them to rally back. that california cool is great for whenever everything is clicking but it isn't and it looks like he has slipped into a funk that i don't really want to play around with in trying to see if he can shake it.

i don't see much overreacting. i see a lot more eyes just opening up to who moore is and how limited the team is with him. don't worry...your eyes will open too some day.

btw...don't you have to go start another thread about trading for some vet QB that no one wants?

Play calling was totally different when Clausen was in then when Moore was in. Clausen worked in a hurry up offense. Moore was working under a regular offense.

Sorry but compare apples to apples not apples to oranges. I'm more concerned with our secondary and offensive line than I am of Moore.

Moore is catching a lot of heat. The defense was worse than Moore imo. Playcalling was horrific.....again. Moore shouldn't have thrown that pick...the playcall was horrible though bunching Smith inbetween the other WRs. Too many defensive bodies who don't respect the other WRs were put in one area around Smith based on the setup. As Rhode said, they knew we had no weapons and it showed on that pick. Not sure that gets picked if the defender respected the guys who he was responsible for.

Oh, and DeAngleo is averaging 3 yards a pop this year. That ain't b/c of Moore.

    • Tanking in the NFL isn’t really a thing and anybody wanting to bring the rigged lottery to the NFL has an ulterior motive.
    • I understand where you're coming from, but we need another safety IMHO. Other positions, especially on defense, dont have ideal depth, but to me at least S is the one position we can't stand pat at even when thinking about the future
    • 100%. Nick Scott was awful last year. Like, even for a franchise that hasn't historically invested in that position, it stood out for how awful it was. If he sees meaningful snaps at S again we're cooked.  Maybe he has value for ST, but I certainly hope we can upgrade. Jordan Fuller, who was by all accounts an Evero guy, was almost as bad. Xavier Woods was bad, but not complete garbage. Still did not want him back. Those 3 guys seriously may have been the worst S group in the NFL. And they all were brought in, especially Fuller, as good fits for this system. Everyone knocks the defensive line, and they deserve a lot of blame, too, but so, so many times our safeties inability to tackle let 4-5 yard runs turn into 10+. And it happened over and over and over again if you watch the film. Honestly, Demani Richardson was the only S by the end of the year I remember making positive plays. I have no issue with Richardson being in the mix and/or competing to be a starter, but we still need another S desperately IMHO who has actually played meaningful snaps in the NFL. The only caveat/excuse for our secondary was the fact our pass rush was nonexistent for large stretches last year. Maybe that helps with coverage, but I dont see how that makes any of these guys better at tackling.  I know it somewhat feels like piling on at this point, but I feel 100% confident in saying this was the worst tackling team in franchise history. The 70ish yard pass play we gave up to Jamarr Chase where he ran through and past everyone in the secondary has to be up there in terms of most embarrassing plays I've ever seen. I can't imagine how embarrassed Kuechly must have been watching from the booth... I think bringing back Evero was a mistake, but for a team that has had nothing but change over the past 5 years, I'm willing to see this through. I definitely think we added significantly to the floor of this defense with the additions we made. I dont think Evero has any further excuses if he cant field a unit that can at least somewhat hold their own. Fixing the safety play is going to be a big part of that.
