I actually wanted us to draft Golden Tate over Clausen haha. I don't think this is a stupid thread at all, after watching endless Clausen Touchdown highlights from ND... Tate is a beast. I doubt we will trade for him though, even Vincent Jackson would be more realistic at this point.

I would rather get an FA proven WR next year with our monster cap space, then get a UNC DE/DT in the first round of the draft. Maybe CB if Marshall splits. Get a Gaurd in free agency also because our current gaurds need a reboot or something, maybe Otah is making that big of a difference i just dont know.

Tate is going to be a mediocre pro. He isn't going to be special or elite. Just wait it out and draft a better WR next season.

I would love to get Tate (I wanted him over Clausen) but 1st and 2nd round rookies never get traded. I can't think of a single case of it happening (I do think the occasional 2nd rounder gets cut but even then its usually not until year 2). I also have to agree with other posters and say that we can't be trading a 1st even if it was possible. Right now that 1st is looking at least top 15 and like others have said there will be quite a few better prospects available then (even though I would rather just wait and get a guy like Deandre Brown outta Southern Mississippi dude has tremendous potential in the 2nd-4th if he declares).

Personally I would take a chance on Jackson if they lower there price to a 4th but maybe considering how desperate we are I would even give up a 3rd for him. I think however the biggest addition will be a healthy Otah.
