Just to Clarify the Poll:

Choice 1 = No talent - yes the FO kept him too long

Choice 2 = He had Talent, but the FO didn't recognize his flaws and cut him earlier (personal or otherwise)

Choice 3 = The FO did all they could to help a Talented kid out and didn't keep him too long (DJ's personal issues were to blame)

Choice 4 = The FO isn't to blame for keeping him, but because he had personal problems and/or no talent, he wasn't cut out for the NFL

It took two DWIs to get Jarrett off the Panthers roster. Do you think it should have happened sooner? Do you think that the Front Office wasted a valuable WR position on a player who was drinking himself out of the NFL?

Or do you think Jarrett was (and might still be) an undeveloped talent, and the Front Office screwed him? Was it less a lack of talent from Jarrett or less a lack of management?

I'm confused as to the Yes and No part of the choices. Like the last too seem to imply that you didn't like DJ being here but by saying no you said that he should have been here all four years.

How about DJ was too young and immature to come into a run only and pass only when it counts team. I think it is a mixture of everything just the wrong player for wrong team creating no inspiration. He is still very young and has plenty of time to still prove himself. He did admit he wanted to be traded. If he plays for a team he actually wants to play for maybe he will play better. While he was here he sucked, that we know.

Jarrett as a college player, was a different player than as a pro.

He tried, he made efforts, although it is easier in college.

He had the pedigree.

He never had the work ethic in the pros, to really be a pro.

The draft is always a crap shot. Jarrett had his chance. On a team that gave him every chance to be a receiver. He wasted it. I guess you could argue the team could have cut him sooner...BUT with a new receiver coach, I can see why they wanted to give him one more chance.

Yeah, I re-read it afterwards and could see the confusion. I'll clarify here and in the OP.

Yes DJ had talent but with the shitty coaching staff, him never getting a chance to really play and the fact the longer something on offense stays here the worse it gets made a recipe for failure.

Ive been saying he should have been cut since last season, but all I kept hearing was that you can't evaluate WR play unless you have an elite QB and all his problems were Jake's fault.

I blame everything on Jarrett. The 0-4 start this year, the 0-3 start last year, the bad performance in the playoff game, the budget deficit, the Israeli Palestinian conflict, global warming, etc....
