Canales interview on pick at 8

Recommended Posts

Here is the actual clip. Canales actually specifically talks about Jalon Walker at the 7 min mark. Seems like it was left out with the original post. Talks about Walker's play, intangibles, and what other Georgia players are saying about him. Walker seems like a lock at this point if he is still there at #8. I would be shocked if he wasn't the pick.

Every system can use a tight end. If the Panthers drafted Young to be a mini-Mahomes, Warren is going to be as close as you can get to a Kelci.

Take him, let them improv.

Right. He isn't a conventional TE. He's more of a Taysom Hill. Which could be particularly useful in short yardage situations when your QB is 5'10" and 180 lbs.

You don't draft Taysom Hill in the top 10. That's a perfect comparison for Warren.

Don't really know why you guys don't believe that Warren is a conventional TE. I mean, he is a conventional TE, and had a highly productive year as a TE in a big-boy conference. The Taysom Hill comp is fugazi.

Yep, I'd be shocked if we pass him up (without trading down for other picks, that is).

Dude no way is it a comp. They both are versatile, that's it. Warren is a very good TE prospect. Hill just plays TE.

Yeah I don't think the meme formations where he played QB are going to be viable in the NFL at all.  Maybe just as a trick play every now and then, but he's going to be a normal TE that feasts off of holes in zone coverage.

bingo that's the problem we want to play balanced football .however if you want to play balanced football then why would  you do this ?

this season it's been all defense while all at the same time ignoring the offense in FA

the season before that  it was all offense & even  let a lot of key contributors walk on the defensive side of the ball in order to free up cap space so they can in turn spend more money on the offense & then in the draft they  drafted a WR in the 1st & a RB in the 2nd

& then before that a few seasons ago when we needed a Qb  we traded  Caleb Williams & Jalen Carter &  2 seconds our WR1 DJ Moore for a Qb Bryce Young

LOL there is nothing balanced about this team whatsoever if anything it's the complete opposite of balanced

    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
    • It was always a matter of time with Cam’s playing style and a shorter shelf life than passers that protect themselves. I suppose Cam could have still been playing in 2028 ten years after the hit took place, but he would need to have evolved as a quarterback and become more of a passer than the dual threat maestro he was. It’s sad because it makes us think of what could have been, but I do feel it was always a matter of time until all the hits took their toll.
