Panthers-Browns Grades

That was a great throw and catch to Lafell. The rest of Clausen's day was so so. But he is getting better, as are the rookie receivers.

it looked great because of the way it was caught, but the throw it's self I can guarantee was not meant to be placed where it was, it was a under-thrown ball that should have been picked.....

Was it a bad throw because it wasn't intercepted? Imo, the ball was in the only place it could have been without the double coverage having a chance to snag it.

That final drive was more Goodson and LaFell than Clausen honestly.

Goodson just made a ridiculous play and I don't expect that throw/catch to work out the majority of the time.

The LaFell play was good on LaFell's part and Clausen made a nice throw but im skeptical that they could do that consistently.

It's like Jake Delhome's "comeback" against the packers in 08 he threw a terrible ball and Steve Smith worked his magic.

I don't want to discredit him too much, but I'm not convinced this was him taking a massive step forward. Right now he keeps doing just enough to be a C student but he's rarely earned an A.

    • Nijman might be a serviceable LT but we still aren’t sure when Moton could go. I think you have to look very hard at OT in the first two days. I’m also really surprised at them letting Mays test the market unless he wanted a huge payday.  I’m not sold on many edges coming out of the draft unless they are total freaks of nature. I’d rather not take a chance on an edge, I swear they mostly bust. One of the top LBs like CJ Allen would be a thrill to get.
    • Guess he needed more carries to get going.  I don’t watch college ball much. Hardly any. I used to pore over all these players in these mocks around where we were slotted to pick and spend a lot of time on it. Then a trade would happen and we’d be picking somewhere else.   My thought is this guy better hope a team that has a great passing game takes him because defenses will stack and crowd in and make his day hell if his QB can’t take some heat off.  So he doesn’t need to be here.
