" It is agonizing that we have not performed at the level we had planned for and expected. "

lolwut

Not performing at a playoff level was expected considering how young and relatively inexperienced the team is, but I don't know what JR was expecting. Maybe he hoped we'd have a 3-9 record by now instead of 1-11?

Going forward, our plan of attack is to build through the draft while retaining our core players. We have one of the youngest teams in the League, and a number of those younger players have shown genuine promise in this otherwise disappointing season. We won't give up on them. We also have a solid nucleus of veterans that we will seek to keep intact.

Means, I'm not paying for high priced FA's.

He should have pulled the trigger on Fox a year ago. Lame duck coach gets you a season we have right now. That's why there haven't been many of them... trying to save a little money in the big scheme of things lost more money. Maybe a new coach would have saved the Panthers from being the laughing stock of the NFL.

It was nice of him to send that but what he dose next year will define him for years to come. If he goes cheap once again he will pay dearly for it.

This is the first year he has ever gone cheap. And we all know that was CBA related.

There is no reason to think he will not go back to spending in order to put a competitive team on the field once a new CBA is signed.

JR takes full responsibility while his fans pay full price.

yup, you can say what you want about Snyder and now Bowlen in Denver. But at least they are trying to put a winning team on the field, and that keeps fans in the seats and in front of the TV.

    • I don't agree with this, he looks jacked to me.  His frame won't allow him to ever be as big as XL, and that's fine.  He will just have a hard time with press, there are ways to deal with that.
    • that type of QB, especially paired with a weaker NFL arm.....excel with quick game weapons though.   it sounds like you are a big Tmac homer.  I mean, if you are watching every snap he played in college.   So, it's safe to say we likely won't see eye to eye on expectations for year 1.   And my expectations on Tmac aren't all in his control.  As I have also said, elsewhere, this is really year 2 for Bryce.  So I expect the first half of the season to carry healthy odds of a year 2 regression (specifically the first half).  Film, tendencies, and weaknesses in Dave's offense are going to be prepared for.    out of curiosity, what cons to Tmac's game where in the scouting stuff you saw?
    • Maybe a weeeee bit exaggerating. I think he will be a great player. But that doesn’t look like someone that was super committed in the weight room during college which is just a little confusing. Maybe he cut some weight to try and run a better 40. We saw Julio come into the league a little skinnier, get bigger/stronger and really start dominating. Strength and size is important as a big physical x receiver. It’s not so important for the Devonta Smith role
