Not to single anyone out just wanted to know if anyone would admit to being wrong about vick at this point. Alot of you said he was nothing but a running qb or wasnt one at all. i'm all for luck or whoever is under center for the panthers next season but, maybe some of "us" were wrong??????????

Those comments were made when he was with the Falcons. Even he admits that he didn't do anything to develop as a passer and relied only on his athletic ability then.

I was for the idea of brining in Vick, but even I didn't have any idea how well he would do this season... so I'm not going to rub anybody else's nose in it.

He would have helped, but he wouldn't be as good as he has been in the Eagles system and the Panthers NEVER would have brought him here so it isn't really worth discussing.

We might have 4-5 wins with Vick.

Fwiw, Hindsight is 20/20, but there was nothing in Vick's history to suggest that he would become as effective a passer as he has this year. He has always had a strong arm, but consistent accuracy has been a problem. If memory serves, In his years with the Falcons, his interception to completed pass ratio was about the same as Jake's.

He has looked better this year than he ever has. That might have something to do with the coach he is working for now. And if thats the case, then there is no reason to think that he would have looked as good playing for us.

Still not sure I would want us to have a convicted felon as Quarterback anyway.

Character has to be a key issue with the Panthers QB. Kerry Collins is probably the best QB we ever had, just was not the best HERE because he was a racist drunk whose heart was not in it. We all know that Vick has talent, we just did not want the baggage. As far as QB, he is still a running QB and he has taken a beating. At 30, it will start to age him quickly (remember, he had 2 years or so to heal). He is on a roll. He always was streaky, so this is nothing new. The next offseason or two will measure Vick. As far as I am concerned, he is still the dog killing Ron Mexico and the people of Philly should feel like bigger scumbags than they already are for cheering for this dick. His true colors will come out soon enough. Wait until contract negotiations. He wll want top QB money, especially if they win a game or two in the playoffs.

Time to start counting again:

1) Not ONE PERSON could have predicted Vick would play this well. Why? look at his numbers prior to this year. Go ahead and lie and say you knew, and after that, use your crystal balls and give the next winning lotto numbers.

2) We don't have Andy Reid, DesSean Jackson, LeSean McCoy, Jeremy Maclin, and Brent Celek on the same team. he's NEVER had this many weapons on offensive at the same time.

3) He's playing in a WEST COAST OFFENSE. see #2, Andy Reid, hes done very well with Vick. Vick has never thrown the ball with this type of efficiency. Some of it is Vick, the rest is the system and the coach.

4) /f**king thread

    • Former league executive and current NFL.com analyst Marc Ross recently named his top second-year breakout candidates for the upcoming campaign. Ross includes Legette, who may be helped out by his team's latest first-round selection. He writes: Legette had a slow start to his NFL career, catching 49 passes for 497 yards and four touchdowns last season. Some of the struggles can be tied to his own growing pains -- he had eight drops on 81 targets, according to Pro Football Focus -- but he had also had to navigate the quarterback shuffle between Bryce Young and Andy Dalton early in Dave Canales' first season leading the Panthers. Canales recently said he believes Carolina has a DK Metcalf-like talent in Legette, who had foot surgery this offseason but was cleared to resume work in early April, and that having a full offseason alongside Young, who took a significant step forward in 2024, could lead to a breakout result in 2025. I anticipate it will also help that Carolina invested another first-round pick in a wide receiver, Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan, to complement Legette in the pass game. McMillan's presence, however, could take some pressure off Legette—who may be able to roam around in a more natural playmaking role. With the 6-foot-4 All-American likely to take on the bulk of the volume from Young, Legette should have some cleaner shots to break out downfield and in the box score.     https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/05/06/panthers-wr-xaiver-legette-top-breakout-candidates-2025/83475176007/?taid=681a4610ede05d000149b376&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter
