Cromartie Rips into Union Reps

I said I could live off of exactly $1 million for the rest of my life. I know these players have to pay their agents but trust me Cromartie has pocketed way more than $1 million in his career. Again my point was these guys have made enough to live on but they chose to live the high life and now that a lockout is looming they're worried cause they didn't manage their money right.

You are clueless.

I don't buy the whole "we got to feed our families" thing coming from guys who makes millions of dollars by signing their names on a contract. If Cromartie messes over the money he received during his career, who's fault exactly is that? Carson said he could pretty much quit right now and live off the money he's made, and I'm willing to bet alot of players could do just that, if not most. Besides, perhaps Cromartie could borrow some money from Revis and pay him back later.

For the guys who didn't make alot of money in the NFL, get regular jobs for a year. Humble yourself, or be humbled.

well, a guy like Sutton might have it easier than a highly paid guy like Cromartie. Cromartie is just a poor/funny example. He has 9 kids w/ 8 baby mommas. 8 baby mommas!?!?! Guy has to get advances from the Jets to make child support payments. It is no surprise he is mad right now.

most NFL players don't have Carson Palmer money. Most NFL players probably have Mike Goodson, Sutton, Pugh, etc. type money. I would wager a relatively small pecentage could retire and never work again.

Just to change the subject a little bit, as a fan of this team, I'm kind of hoping there is a lockout. If the implications are true that we will retain the first overall pick in 2012, not to mention having the first pick in every round that year, I am more than willing to sacrifice a year of football to have that much production coming here a year later. If our guys can stay healthy for a year of no football, especially Steve Smith (who's our aged x-factor), we would be dominant right away coming out of the lockout. Come on, how many of you would love to have the first pick in all the rounds in 2012, which will also be rookie-capped?

LOL well he want have to worry about a lockout. The Owners will just take the last deal they put on the table. Then the players can figure out if the want to follow Bravehart aka Mr. Smith or just go back to work. Im sure what most will choose.

Okay, with regard to the Cromartie thing:

* Nine kids by 8 women in 6 states

* Kids range in age from 9 months to 5 years

* Chargers gave him a 6-year deal with $7.35M up front in 2006

* One baby-momma gets $3500 per month, another $2800.

* The Jets gave him a $500k advance when he signed there in 2010

You want to make the NFL shake in their boots? Threaten to sit out of the Super Bowl. You'd have a deal hammered out in 2 hours.

Good idea but it wont happen they have this years contract that they have to follow through on...

I read somewhere about that if players try to boycott a game this season that would have devastating consequences on the players and union, something like that.

I remember when some teams at the beginning of the season held up one finger as a demostration to let the fans know there is a situation about a possible lockout. (Of course most fans who follow the NFL already knew about it.) Yet most fans booed it, and Mike Golic whined on the radio about how fans didn't care about these rich athletes. So teams stopped doing it. I said to myself, "fans better care if they want to see football in 2011". So I don't want to hear Golic or those fans who booed, crying if there is no football come this september. It seems the joke is on them.

Cromartie literally has like 57 kids. Child support is a mofo. Guy needs to work.

Im feeling like some "Blind Side" inspirado...I will begin to meet with these children for a possible adoption....armed with cones, a stopwatch and a vertical measuring stick.

Those Cromartie's can run so I think I need to raise a kid who can win not only my heart but show the proper agility, speed and intangibles Im looking for in my second child. Welcome to my Home little Cromo...

But Seriously,

He is just saying there has been a lot of media talk of Lets get this done...no one is making the move to do it..and put the first offer in. Just a stare down which can affect a lot of people. He has a great point of not only his paycheck...but of the employees of the stadiums and local businesses that rely on the game traffic..for what?!

Millionaires and Billionaires are actually going to cause a work stoppage when they can solve it now! its stupid.

Cromartie just telling it like it is, LOL

This is why he's one of my favorite players in the league, and I agree with him. They need to talk, and get some kind of deal hammered out. Both sides need to get their egos in check, because I want to see some football next year

I'm pretty much going to give you pie every time you post while your sig is still up. I will however probably not ever be able to actually read your post.

    • I mean, you probably should've waited after the season is over before "going there," that way we we'd have four more games of comparison and discussion. Don't get me wrong, I occasionally go out on a limb, but Bryce just had his best game and has given people hope (which could realistically be false hope), and Shedeur just doesn't have that many games under his belt (even if he does look promising), one of them being against the Titans. No harm in being patient and letting things play out.  If you noticed, Tepper seems to be taking a wait-and-see attitude, and he didn't mention Bryce in the clip in the other thread. I'm still highly skeptical of Bryce (and glad that Sanders has shown an ounce of success), but the reality is that we have to let things play out. The Sanders train left long ago (if it was even here). But,there are more realistic options if Bryce turns back into a frog.
    • imagine thinking that talking about our next opponent is "gassing up" someone.... and then lying about basic info because it's not flattering to the league's worst starting QB since he arrived.  as a starter he is 2-3 (just a fact) as a starter vs Bryce this year pass yards per game - Shough rush yards per game - Shough comp % - Shough  QB rating - Shough yards/per attempt - Shough and Shough is only good for a 2nd year rookie thrust into the gig on a bad team.   He is getting graded on a curve of what he is.  And he won the last head to head vs us, and looked like the best QB on the field that day.   there are a billion red flags when it comes to Bryce Young.  This is just another.
    • Imagine gassing up a 2-4 QB for a terrible division rival with stats worse than our QB in every category except raw yards per game
