Bech or Noel---I think they also like Trapilo (OT) from BC.  I hope they grab a T, personally, but with BC, they may not feel a sense of urgency

I don't think they have an OT under contract next year so they need to find a sense of urgency IMO. Leaning onto BC, who no team wanted this year on a real contract, at this point is a mystery to me. So many coaches have passed him over in his 5 years. So yeah take an OT and hole they can become a solid backup at least

I don't know, that workout warrior who never had more than a sack and a half in a season and put up the tackle numbers of a rotational two down NT seems like a guy most people should vehemently not want with a top 10 pick.

Well I know you don't want him, that isn't news haha

I do think that if there's a massive curveball thrown at #8 it's an OT. There's a lot of smoke signaling that OT is probably a lot higher on our need list than most fans would expect. We look fine on paper this year but after this year it's super cloudy and taking an OT at #8 would probably open the door to trading Moton now.

I mean, look at a team like the Bengals. Joe Burrow has been taking an unholy beating. If I'm them I'd send us a 2nd rounder for Moton without a second thought because they're shortening Burrow's career behind these OLs.

I almost expect an OT to be taken by us somewhere in the first three rounds.

I would be fine with an OT early. It would just confirm why none of those guys are under contract at this point past this year. Not idea which way all this breaks but it's wide open this year.

The way the draft board is projected to fall it's not out of the question at all that the BPA at #8 very well could be an OT. I expect NE to go OT but that might be the only OT off the board before us. If NE doesn't go OT Maye should demand a trade.

It's all so unpredictable this year. OT is a better option than any other offensive position at 8 but that teir 2 clump is so similar with their 'but's so positional value should enter the discussions where OT holds strong IMO.

I will never ever complain about picking a top 1-3 tackle in the first round no matter what our current line situation is.

I still want Walker at 8 but if its tackle then so be it

If Dan flips the last year of Moton for a 2nd and gets a franchise LT at 8, then he's the fuging man.  That would be brilliant.

It's the type of forward thinking operating that has rarely been seen from this organization. It's the type of thing done by well ran organizations fairly regularly.

Getting a 2nd for Moton would flip how I look at Morgan. His values are too dated and that would be a 180 IMO.

I honestly don't know that we could get a 2nd. I'm just saying that if I was calling the shots for the Bengals that would make a lot of sense to me. I've been watching my MVP caliber QB take an absolute beating his entire career. A 2nd rounder to help curb that even if for the relative short term seems like a well spent 2nd rounder. At 31 with potential knee issues, Moton probably isn't the long-term solution for them but he could definitely be a 2-3 year bandaid.

IDK where he is health wise so a 2nd could be the moon. Being on deal with 1 year left with noncontract talks screams volumes people around here keep ignoring.

I would rather have top talent than extra picks. In most draft classes, if you get 3 to 5 starters out of 9 drafted, it was a successful draft. The lower rounds have the better odds of getting a starting player. I hope we don't trade back. Take BPA and live with it. Don't reach it based on need. Thursday should be fun. I'm cool with taking a TE RB EDG for our 1st pick.

    • Yeah, Bryce has to put that a little deeper. But XL can't allow the pick there. Gotta become the DB when you're undercut like that.
    • You see, I just don't subscribe to a cookie cutter type of philosophy when it comes to trades or team building. Every situation is different. Many may disagree, but I think that FOs that can't draft impact-players beyond the first round aren't really viable.  Just for argument's sake, because we all know this hypothetical trade is as realistic as the moon being made of cheese, Micah is a young dawg really just beginning his prime and is arguably the most valuable pass rusher in the league. He could realistically play at a high level for at least the next five to seven years. Parsons' current trajectory is Canton. That being said, he's not some old merc that fits the mold of "one piece away," he's a core piece to any defense for the better part of the next 10 years. Pass rushers of his caliber and age don't generally become available, so, sure, he'd help an elite team, but he's also a fit for a younger team that's building. I know that you don't agree, but it's all good. I respect your rationale.
    • Here's my not important take on this subject.  Who wouldn't want a pass rusher of his consistency?  I would absolutely love to have him on this defense.   Would I give up Brown in a trade for him.  Nope, I would never do that.  Interior linemen are way to important to be settling for whatever you can get at the position.   Would I trade 2 firsts,  plus fork out a big contract for him?   Without knowing if Young is for sure going to be our long term, franchise guy,  there is no way I'd be okay with letting go 2 firsts. As for the contract that he'd demand, I just dont get caught up with NFL contracts.  They have been out of control for decades.  So I really dont get upset over big contracts. It's just a fact of life in the NFL.  You HAVE to pay for talent.
