Trade:

Indy wants Warren and they fear a few teams before them.  So I found a trade calculator and did this:

image.thumb.png.6b826b15c89c123776748b69ada2b2b7.png

So I get 14, 45, 80.  for 8, 111, 114, and 163.

Panthers move back to 14, have 2 second rounders (45, 57), and two third rounders (74, 80)-five picks on days 1 and 2.

For Warren? Take that and don't look back!

I very seriously doubt you're going to get a team to give up all their picks in the first two days of the draft. The math might work out on the chart but nobody wants to put all their eggs in one basket that hard.

Yeah very well said, I think the reports coming out that we’re looking to trade back reflects some internal conflict on who we should draft. Call me crazy but I don’t think Jalon is a lock at 8, I think they have a multitude of guys with near identical grades.

If you were to believe the latest rumors it would seem they like Nolan more than Walker and are willing to trade down. But the catch is Nolan will not get past SF or may not make it that far in the first place. He can play in a 4-3 defense so anyone could take him.

When Philly takes you off their board then treat that as radioactive. Dude is too much for Philadelphia lol

I really hope we've done our homework on him and didn't just recently start really warming up to him based on film and we haven't put in the work on the off field stuff.

When guys with legit 1st round talent start getting straight up removed from draft boards that's as massive as red flags get. Professional sports teams are willing to look past a LOT of BS if you have the talent.

I like it, what positions would you be targeting between the first two rounds?

First, I think the Colts would not make this trade with Lovelace and Warren available, but, you never know...they could be low-key QB hunting.

in the first round, I think I would take (and this is a twist to what I have said before) but I might take a nickel CB who can stuff the run and is a ball hawk--we don't really have a nickel.  He could play nickel and serve as depth behind Horn and Jackson.  Wanted to go S, but high quality, hybrid players like this are not common:

In the first round:

14. Jahdae Barron, CB Texas.

in the second round:

45.  J T Tuimoloau, Edge Ohio State.

57.  Alfred Collins, DT/NT, Texas

in the third round:

74.  Demetrius Knight, LB South Carolina

80.  Anthony  Belton, OT NC State

Fifth Round:

--Sanker, S UVa;

--Riley Leonard, QB Notre Dame

Seventh Round:

--Isaac TeSlaa, WR Arkansas

If the board falls this way, I'm willing to see if the Bears, 49ers, or Colts are willing to move up and add in their 2nd round pick. I feel the strength of this draft is somewhere in the late 30s - 50th pick. There will be a ton of value there for positions  that are obvious needs for this team.

These are the postion groups I would be targeting in the first 3 rounds:

1st - Edge, WR, DT, S, TE

2nd - Edge, WR, CB, DT, LB, OT - I think they have to come away with a CB in this round along with either Edge or WR if they land a 2nd pick.

3rd - S, WR, CB, DT, OT, TE, RB, Edge (if not filled previously or a double dip).

    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
    • I don't really follow the team anymore due to a variety of reasons and consequently have largely stopped posting but I agree that this is a lovely website and community. This forum probably kept me around for years longer than I would've stuck otherwise because of how difficult it was to stop checking multiple times a day. Especially appreciate how lax the moderation tends to be compared to a lot of places, the crew here does a great job. Out of curiousity I decided to try making a new account (solely for testing purposes) to see what exactly is wrong with the sign up process. The issue seems to be that it never sends you an account verification email, thus making it impossible to complete registration. This is likely something to do with the email server upstream, hope it gets fixed. Also, lol
    • Uh oh, Nicole Tepper hugged him. In all seriousness though every time I see more about him my hopes get higher. Smart, great attitude, prototype size and measurables, and athletic. He could be a great one.
