I think Dan and the team have turned the page.

Personally Id love to see him back on some vet type of deal.

The deal is Panthers have his medical files, I do not.

I think Morgan would be open to a team friendly deal now that Shaq knows his value.

we need LB help, hes actualy more than likely the best available considering he knows the team and play book

Seeing as how we are still some time away from truly competing for anything of note we are in the stages of simply competing to develop our young roster. Let the young guys get their reps and see who sticks. As much as it might hurt to let the past go given how much we like Shaq as a person it's something that must be done. You don't see perennial playoff contenders lobbying to bring back soon to be 32 year old linebackers coming off an ACL tear. Sooner or later we've gotta start acting like a franchise that wants to contend for something before the year 2030.

That could have been the main issue. I know Morgan drafted Trevin Wallace too....

I have no insight minus pressers and beat reporters for this. I believe Shaq wants to play, more than one year too. Just he's had some big injuries, age, and wear tear. That stuff adds up fast now.

I get that Dan and company just feel if Shaq wants to play, he will have to do that else where.....if he wants to sign a one day, Dan would be ready.

The other deal is, before Shaq is signed, I got one question. Is he willing to play ST?? Cause if you are some #3-4 LB, you almost have to play ST... I don't know if a former 8 year starter is ready to lose brain cells on ST tackling...

Honestly it maybe a deal where Shaq is simply not good anymore too, I dare believe it..... time and injuries get all these players tho...

Depends on the circumstances.  If we had to cut some young promising guy to keep him, then no.  But if we just need a guy for a year, bring him back.

Definitely bring him back for a day and let him retire a Panther if that is what he wants.

We need roster spots for guys we are trying to develop.

Shaq is not helping us long term.

    • Yes, but those guys aren't depth guard signings, they're likely going to wait and see who has injuries or players under performing and then sign there. I also think that if Ickey really is going to be able to play at some point this year, that's where our guard depth comes from.  As if he gets to the point of being active, we'd then have 3 LT's on the roster with him, Freeling, and Walker, gotta think one of them not named Freeling gets kicked inside if needed.
    • lol imagine being Hill and this is what your coach thinks about you replacing a guy giving up over 4 goals per game.
    • I don't think Tyreek is a bad player to play with on the field, for sure not in the same way that Diggs is, as he's a cancer on the field with how he acts, and wouldn't take kindly to being 2nd fiddle behind T-Mac. It's that Tyreek is just a terrible person who realistically shouldn't even be in the NFL, his insane athletic ability is why his off field transgressions have been overlooked.  If he was a WR3, no team would have kept him around, it was only that he was a 1st ballot HOF level talent that kept him around. Just zero interest in having a person like that around our young WRs, that's really all it comes down to for me with him. Again, if we were true contenders this year, that changes things and I'd rather bring in the best possible players and hope it works out.  But they're trying to build something here and to do that, you need high quality people, not just great talent.
