besides being closer to home at A&M, was there a reason Scourton left Purdue?

Occam’s razor says it has something to do with Purdue being in West Lafayette Indiana whereas A&M isn’t.

No, so admittedly my comment is not a fully informed one.  But had the misfortune of experiencing West Lafayette in the winter many years ago and I’m not a winter person.

College Station is a complete hell hole. Yeah, so is northwest Indiana but it's not like he left to go to Shangri-La. LOL

He left because TAMU offered him a bag. That's just the reality of college sports now. It's NFL free agency but there's no contracts. It's a complete poo show.

Great work on the OP.  I saw a workout clip of him after dropping a good bit of weight and he looks fantastic.  Playing him at 280 was stupid but being a team guy he did it.  Looking for big things from this dude

    • It's not common for a RB to recover from two ACL tears in the same knee. It's fairly rare. You are correct that it isn't the career ender that it used to be but there is also the fact that we appear to have largely moved on with the additions of Dowdle and Etienne.  Dobbins is a very good example. He has basically missed 54% of his career regular season games since he came into the league in 2020. It will end up being 57% at the conclusion of this season. It's a big contributing factor to why he is on this third NFL team in 6 years. It's certainly possible that may be 4 by the beginning of next season. I would say there is very little chance that Brooks ever contributes in any meaningful way in Carolina. Possibly with another team but I am extremely skeptical of his future here because of those injuries and because of the roster.
    • Dude he didnt play in pre season.....  he didnt practice at all with the team until the end of October.    I do agree though.
    • Bryce had a hand in the Miami win but not nearly as large of one as Rico and he also had the extra burden of being a big reason we were in the hole in the first place. If we get a winning season he is definitely back for next year though.
