Oh lord, why would anyone miss Slye? Yeah, being able to lineup for a 60 harder is nice but not at the expense of 35 yards and XPs being nail biting affairs. If I had to choose between a big legged kicker with spotty accuracy or an accurate kicker with a limited leg I'm absolutely choosing the latter. At the end of the day, missing a long FG is basically the equivalent of a turnover. You're handing your opponent great field position.

Yea give me the guy that can get 3 basically 100% of the time when a legit drive stalls out.  I don't understand the moon shot kicker fixation.

Yeah, range only matters with consistency. It only takes a few wide rights on gimmies to make you long for the guy who is near automatic from inside 50 but that's about the end of his range.

If you can hit from 60 and you're automatic, congrats you are a HOF kicker unless you become Justin Tugger.

Looking at Wright's stats I'm kinda surprised why this guy has never stuck. He's an 87% FG kicker and he's 7/11 from 50+ with a 56 and two 59 yards.

This guy beating out Fitzgerald doesn't seem like the end of the world.

Long range ability is already an upgrade over Pinero. But he's been on 6 teams in 5 years. I don't expect he's going to suddenly lock down the position for us for several years. Probably another situation like all our kickers the last few years. Brief high then back down to Earth.

It's all about hope man.  He gives you a chance at a lot of distances, and you always hope you can figure it all out and be automatic from anywhere.

I am also a ginger and support my people.

If he's our kicker, in Madden, the accuracy is up to me.  I can't control leg power.

My reasons may be silly, but you asked.
