Quote

During this most recent season (his second in the league), Young made strides by doubling his win total, upping his touchdown-to-interception ratio, and shoring up some rookie fumble issues. Most notably, he went from being sacked 62 times in 2023 to just 29 last year, something that eased the physical burden of the job.

Being a competitor, I feel like we're always taught to be our toughest critics. I'm always hard on myself. For me, it's just finding that balance and making sure that I'm doing everything on the field and holding myself to the highest standard. To be the player that I want to be for myself—and for the team—but also doing it in a way that's sustainable and healthy.

I try my best to compartmentalize. I'll do that a lot with location too. So stuff that's physical and stuff that happens at the stadium. The stadium, that's me. That's the quarterback, that’s work, that's all in. I try to leave everything at the stadium. Leave work at work. When I do leave, that's where I try to separate myself.

The last three games of your season, you had seven touchdowns and no interceptions; two of the games were overtime wins. Ending the season on that note, what did it do for your mental health?

I think it was great for us as a unit, just as something to build off going into the offseason. [This is] the first time we'll be with the same staff, same system, a lot of continuity on the offensive side of the ball. Now it's that balance of feeling the confidence and seeing the build, but also knowing that we still have work to do. I still have stuff to improve on. We all still have stuff to improve on!

Bryce Young is quite blessed in his overall perception and treatment from the media when you compare and contrast to other first overall picks that have experienced such lows and highs. I'm hoping to see him come out swinging in camp and preseason with the rest of the starters.

Because the media has the script

Well a public endorsement from the winningest coach in modern college football certainly would help drive that script going forward.

Can't believe he is doing anything other than studying the playbook, working out, and practice.  How dare he have a life outside of football.

I'm actually excited for this year, I think Bryce has a real shot at breaking out, along with getting his confidence back the biggest thing I saw with him in the second half of the year was the cliche that "the game slowed down for him" which for a guy whose key trait is his football IQ was key.... he was reading defenses incredibly well both pre and post snap.... as soon as he realized he could trust his line.

Ppl that were butthurt over a week of Netflix are going through it this week. Bryce in GQ and XL in a music video? Ooh wee mayne.

I dont think this is the flex you think it is.  He said this, and then went on to have the worst 2 starts in arguably historyto start the season.  Which in turned gave DC no other option then to bench.  So yeah,  focusing on the offseason obviously matters.  So dunking on the netflix folks looks pretty embarrassing all things considered.

qb rating of 6 and 10.

"I was kind of away from football for the most part, just living every other aspect of my life. Just hanging out, being around family, being around friends, getting back to a routine that doesn't revolve as much around football. For me, it was still being able to just enjoy and work out, but the Xs and Os actual football part, kind of stepping away from it."

"Legit, it sounds boring, like I'm holding something out, but I'm not. But it's really like I watch YouTube, I watch TV, I watch Netflix, and every once in a while, I'll go someplace to maybe look at some clothes or something. There's nothing really cool that I'm just trying to hang onto. I'm definitely kind of a homebody. I'm an only child, so I'm used to being able to just chill on my own. That's how I decompress. So it's really just that."

I'm confused why we're throwing a grenade about Netflix in here after all the complaints that have transpired about Bryce threads being derailed in the past. The phrase "do as I say not as I do" comes to mind.

It was what anyone that has any basic expectations for this franchise would be able to agree was an unwise and ill timed remark from a first overall pick following a brutal rookie season. He made a mistake. He's seem to have learned from it and used that and other negative on field experiences to reshape his trajectory for the better going forward. We are now waiting to see him take the next crucial steps forward this season and we hope he does. There's no reason for anyone to bring it up unless they are just wanting a fight which seems utterly pointless in June. But I guess have at it if you're bored.

    • Honestly, it wasn't on him last game. There are many other reasons that come before Bryce. Dave Canales is really starting to worry me. I mean there are glaring issues that can't be excused. I said back when the whole Rico/Chubba thing happened. I said right then that you cannot have a coach that handled those 4 or 5 games the way he did. I get it, most thought that he was trying to throw games, which was not wrong thinking because of how bad it was. The decisions right before half. The strict "Chubba gets this drive and Rico gets the next." It's seeming like a lot of our backups are the better talent, so he cant evaluate talent. Not calling a quarterback sneak because of size. Small quarterback have a different type of advantage, just not as good as a large quarterback, but still doable. Then he doesn't even explain why he didn't put Dalton in there (saying it would give away a quarterback sneak is...just stop). I honestly think he forgot about putting in Dalton. There are so many others that I'd have to re-watch the games to remember.  I could make a whole other post on that defensive game plan...absolutely awful. And a quick petition...see the quote above, can we please ban these weirdos and try to clean this place up. This is peak reddit right here and these losers will destroy the board. I couldn't make it though 3 pages because these morons post more than anyone else. These are the perpetual online freaking weirdos banned from getting too close to schools reddit mod types. Get these losers out of here. You got these freaks posting a ton and not answering the question OP posted ABOUT THE PANTHERS. This is supposed to be about football and this dork constantly tries to attack OP's question. Could you imagine someone in your real life group acting like this? You'd kick his butt out immediately. And you have this reddit loser trying to stop people for posting about the Panthers. Any normal person would just skip the post, but you have to remember these morons base their whole personality on their online persona. They would be banned almost everywhere else. Send him back to reddit, they will be a cancer to this place, trust me. I guarantee you he has more comments than 95% of accounts. These guys are the lowest in society so they live online. Its everything to them. You dont want that. Just read his responses. Do background check on that guy, there are younger people on this too and he probably isn't allowed to be talking to them, or be on here at all.
    • Neither of them are getting in. Cam had HOF potential but was squandered by Ron, Shula, and Gettlemen.
    • We have attempted several over the past two seasons. Maybe two successful?
