I see them keeping everyone mentioned and could see Blackshear getting sent packing as Horn takes his place. I like Blackshear but he’s a JAG returner and RB. Horn has far more upside with his speed. With drafting Travis, this would automatically put Blackshear as RB #4. Do teams normally carry that many on the active roster?

They kept 7 last yr 7 of those guys.. so should just keep 7 this yr

week 1 active roster vs New Orleans was 5.  Think that first roster had 7 and they ended up swapping them for DBs or something like that.

Just an old vet who knows the system. I haven’t noticed any love for him really.

I literally read this 15 minutes ago, but it sums up my feelings perfectly. FYI, the article was about 3 players on the bubble. The author's opinion seems to be Horn is a lock and Renfrow and Moore are fighting for that last spot.

David Moore, WR

The Panthers' wide receiver room is crowded. There aren't many available spots, at least from the outside looking in. That raises the stakes considerably for those further down the pecking order fighting for recognition.

David Moore is among them. The former seventh-round selection is a trusted ally of Dave Canales from three separate NFL stops. He's a solid if not spectacular player, although he underwhelmed when tasked with significant responsibilities during the previous campaign.

Moore is battling it out for the sixth wideout spot alongside Hunter Renfrow, Kobe Hudson, and Jacolby George. It could go either way, but Canales' faith and his ability to impact special teams might be enough to get a reprieve."

I was assuming Blackshear was gone anyway. Or at least PS.

Moore can be put in one of the vet spots on IR. No one will be checking for him at the start of the season. But I would be very perturbed if we tried to go all Gettlemagic and stash an obvious talent like Horn on practice squad like we did Butker. If we can get through this year, next year it will be obvious Moore and AT will be gone, starting namely with AT's contract.

I would think so. If things got dire in the RB room, finding someone to match his production ain’t too hard. He made the team based on his ability to not muff a punt and make a decent attempt at a return. I will say it was nice to see someone sure handed back there but I can’t remember a single big return he ever had for us.

Horn has to be penciled in as the default returner unless things look really bad at camp. I can see him as being a very special kick return guy.

Renfrow makes the team and becomes part of the rotation-- then he plays well.  Gets NFL comeback player of the year.  You all cheer.  When I say, "I called this in June."  You will say "Pic or it didn't happen."  I will say, "you all disgust me because you are too mired in mediocrity to see my brilliance."  You will give me a poo emoji because that is how you treat greatness.   OK, I'm back.

I mean, I alluded to it when we signed him. It might be different if he was old and washed up, but he's not. Sickness and suffering will never ever allow you to be your best. Eclipse that and if one has the talent and inclination to thrive, the sky's the limit.

I don't think Horn should be penciled in our a default returner at all.  He had 14 career punt returns in college.   That's not much work.

Renfrow has 70 NFL PR returns logged.   He should be the default guy penciled in IMO

Sometimes the priority is just can you not turn it over.  You see rookies choke a lot at the NFL level or guys you try to make return guys.

Didn’t realize Renfro did returns! Thank you for that

It’s his (Renfro) to lose then, which he won’t.
