Frank comment about Bryce? "Excited"

He most certainly was not "straight garbage" in Indy.  He was a meh coach and btw he was dealing with another lunatic meddling owner.  And if we are being honest, we would kill for his results in Indy at this point.  I would say all things considered he did perfectly fine.

He didn't have a QB in Indy when lucky abruptly retired. Then Luck, who is the General Manager at Stanford, hires Frank to bring him in there. That says enough to me about Franks character to know the characterizations of his time here are more or less wrong, and that the blame resides with where it has always resided, and that's with Meddlin' Tepper.

He's like the Scoobie Doo gang. Constantly meddling and ruining the desire of the team to win.

Frank is a man of integrity. What you describe is not only unethical but anti-thetical to the person that everyone who has been around Frank says about him.

The offense was bad. Period. The team, I think, was disappointed that Wilkes wasn't retained and that the team didn't build off of the backend of 2022, instead opting for a full rebuild, again.

How is it unethical?  He didn't hold a gun to David Tepper's head for that contract. Once we drafted a QB that didn't fit his offense or fit his preferences it was all cooked. I have no idea if he was told something that reasonably made him expect he'd have more say in the QB decision or I'd he simply thought he'd be able to be more persuasive through the process but there seemed to be a noticeable shift in his energy and engagement once we honed in on Bryce and I don't think that went unnoticed by Tepper leading to the quick dismissal once everything headed south.

I member Charles Johnson meeting Frank and he didn't have ANY idea who he was. Charles called the exchange weird and said he got weak vibes from Frank....

Video wont load for me but based on your anecdote its of Frank Reich in the locker room giving a weak ass speech.

And Charles Johnson is potentially the most overhyped, over paid Panthers player in franchise history. So I guess they are even.

Hmm. Can we pause a moment here?

Let me get this straight.........

You'll go out of your way to literally spam poo reactions over someone accurately describing Andy Dalton for what he currently is as a QB no matter how nice of a guy and how much we like him. But then you'll go completely out of your way to randomly trash Charles Johnson who has actually helped this franchise win games? The clownery is simply astounding.

Hopefully there was a behind-the-scenes chat with Dan/Dave/Tep to say "let football people football" - which appears to correlate to the perception that Tep has been more hands-off in their world vs where he was earlier

It may not be much, but if there is a cause-effect then we could give sincere/honest thanks to Frank for his contribution to that improvement

I often wonder what the can of worms would be if we drafted Stroud. Could see a reality where Stroud was good enough to carry us to 8-9 win seasons and we are going into year 3 with him and Reich. I think we would have been in the absolute dead zone of of 6 win floor and 10 win ceiling with those two together.

yeah Charles Johnson is a Panther leggy, he was VERY good until that scumbag Pats player Leg whipped him on MNF in 2013. He Deserves to be in our Ring of Honor imo

Wow I had not thought about that bs moment in a long time. Can't believe that was twelve years ago!

Yessir he's second only to Julius Peppers in franchise history sacks. He deserves to be honored. Hopefully that is not far off.

Hope the money lasts, he'll never be a HC again, he has proven who he is at 2 stops.

What a way to go out, now 2 fanbases hate you. Dude is a shyster.

He's literally a head coach at this very moment. It's the reason he was being interviewed at ACC media day and is being paid very well to do it. Do you make 4 million dollars a year?

    • Well yeah. Last time vs NO if we had had good QB play and half ass pass pro it is a different game. And that is the story more often, in point of fact, than the two or three hero games everyone wants to use to define the player.  That box was so stacked against the run it was basically impossible to break through it, you had to go over and around. It is what we knew was gonna be employed by teams and we were unable to stop them from doing it.    I am real interested to see the first 3rd and 8 and see how NO defenses it in the back end. Because they can look at that Rams tape and learn, but will they have enough fear/respect that it can happen to them or will we need to prove it again before they do?   Most people don’t learn from others’ mistakes and  need to make their own.
    • I like that Tillis is so down to earth  we will see where it goes ill say something controversial on a day that, along with next week, determines the panthers 2025  and 2026 fate  he referenced ‘money ball’, statistics and self scouting multiple times. it really makes me feel that Bryce will be back regardless of what happens over the next 4 games as that is the smart move for financial stability but by no means does that guarantee Bryce anything past that.  They will improve year over year regardless of position or who is affected       however, they will do the appropriate diligence and not cut off their nose to spite their face….it won’t be an emotional decision…unlike us Huddlers….for example, if Young’s happy ass shits the bed today, I’ll be less than pleased ..particularly having seen what they will do and having a bye week.  Brandon Staley is a good defensive coordinator and former HC.  His defense is aging but he can still develop a good game plan
    • Something like 24 now. The first 6 minutes were fun, after that, oh man. It was cool tho, a near capacity, with both teams well supported.
