Also, for all the guys pounding the table to get all this compensation for our scrubs, this is the actual reality of the market.

Yeah, trades this time of the year are largely about trading guys at the bottom of your roster in units of depth for late round picks or players in a similar situation on another roster. Basically just skipping the waiver wire and insuring you're securing one of the better guys about to hit the trash heap.

To be fair, some of those 30 yard passes were to receivers only 10 yards down field. LOL

Lol had to laugh at that although some truth to that I very much doubt you have watched anything of him at Wyoming.... lol.

And almost all of those were him throwing in the run.   Which he has improved on probably 2000% at the NFL level lol.

Yeah and this was trading two 6ths for a starter, as well.

I lived in Colorado at the time and virtually all the Wyoming games were locally televised. I'd bet money that I watched more Josh Allen college games than anyone else on this board.

Ooof for the loss on that one. I only saw a few and I also remember how bad he was throwing on the run as a rookie.... oof the first time they made the playoffs with him he missed a two yard swing pass on fourth down with the game on the line by 10 yards because he was moving.

His college highlight reel would rival anyone's. His college lowlight reel would also rival anyone's. LOL

There are occasional big trades during the final preseason week, but it's definitely not the norm.

There's also the guarantee factor for vets on the roster Week One that makes a lot of teams wait till Week Two to go after veteran players

details on the McGary injury.  Just found out their backup RT is also out.

Atlanta Falcons right tackle Kaleb McGary will miss time due to a leg injury he sustained Wednesday during practice, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

McGary was carted off the field before the 11-on-11 portion of practice Wednesday but was not fitted with an air cast. A team spokesperson said after practice that McGary was receiving an MRI and an update would follow "at an appropriate time."

The Falcons are still determining the length of McGary's absence, but "he's out," the source told Fowler.

McGary's backup would have been Storm Norton, the Falcons' reserve swing tackle. But Norton had surgery Tuesday on his ankle and will be out for six to eight weeks, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Opposite approach of how we built our qb room the last couple years, we'll see if the strategy pays off.

QB Russell Wilson Jameis Winston Jaxson Dart* Tommy DeVito

Well just a few years ago they went to the playoffs and won a playoff game with Daniel Jones at QB. And while the Giants have been up and down at best since their last Super Bowl they have shown to be a more competent organization. While the Panthers haven't so much as sniffed the playoffs in nearly a decade. Logic would dictate that the Giants strategy has a high probability to be at least modestly successful. The Panthers? Eh.

    • I wouldn't be opposed to trading for Sanders and seeing if he could be developed here. We have zero plans, and I really don't think it would take Sanders long to produce more than Bryce has. Plus, he's on a 5th round rookie contract and if he became the guy, you instantly have three years to build a core of talent, much of which we already have.  I get flamed for this opinion but it is what it is, and I've been right about these type of things the past three years.  I said Nix would be a good NFL QB. Wanted to keep Darnold and trade down in 2023. Said QB play wasn't the QB's fault under Rhule, but rather the offensive design.  Give me Sanders in the room for a year with Bryce and Dalton, see what he can develop in to on the cheap. There are no really quality QB's coming out this year that aren't Allar or Manning, and Manning may not even be coming out.
    • basically if the panthers trade Thielen they're not trying to win this year. I mean they're not going to regardless but this means its the plan not to.  no team is going into the season in 2025 with 80 career catches between their top 3 healthy WR.  you'd be turning this from a bottom 3rd of the league offense to like the nathan peterman bills pair that with a defense that is most likely going to struggle, and they're looking at 2001 again.
