Did he have more talent than people remember or was it like I said that Cam balling out helped some guys get opportunities that they probably otherwise wouldn't have gotten?

I guess that’s a matter of opinion.

just to be clear, I get what you are saying I think CJ Stroud did the same thing for Tank Dell.  I get it

Opinion?

Nick Fairly got drafted #13 overall in 2011 with Cam. He was the only highly drafted player who played with Cam... on the other side of the ball. Ziemba was a late 7th who never made an NFL active roster. Zach Clayton another DT on the roster who was drafted in the 7th and appeared in 3 NFL games. In 2012 Cam's RT got drafted in the 4th round. He played two NFL seasons starting three games. In 2013 the only Auburn player drafted was a DE. In 2014 OT Greg Robinson was drafted in the 1st and RB Tre Mason in the 3rd and neither ever played a snap with Cam.

The reality is that the NFL offensive talent around Cam when he won the Heisman and carried them to an undefeated national championship was a late 7th round LT who never made an NFL active roster and a future 4th round RT who would only play two seasons starting three games. That's the end of the list.

So, watching Mendoza on these last two drives......I am really not seeing him have to hit a second read. Like...maybe at all.

Something to keep an eye on.

To be fair, Illinois has played so awful on defense he hasn't had any reason to go to his second read.

It is opinion until we see who is drafted from the Sellers SC team and see how they do.  As of now you are projecting.  I doubt anyone but Sellers gets drafted but we shall see.

Definitely gonna have to check out Indiana to catch this Mendoza guy. I mean, this is about as close to perfect as stat lines get...

Also, holy poo did Illinois ever get fraud checked as a top 10 team. LOL! I bet the list of top 10 teams getting blown out by 50+ plus is a very short list.

Canes defense looks better than last year.

Oh it's night and day.

Besides the DC being much better (they're not having anything like the same communication and lining up issues) they brought in like 7 new DBs, including a few All Americans.

It couldn't look much worse. Miami last year was like the Howell/Maye era Heels teams. Yeah, we could put up a basketball score any given week but we were probably giving up a basketball score too.

He only had 1 incompletion last week. He's 40-43 in the past two games 10 passing TDs, 1 tuddy rushing and 0 picks.  All this in 6 quarters as he was pulled at halftime last week.  Two weeks in a row with QB rating north of 250.
