"South Carolina women's basketball coach Dawn Staley was in the house and talked to Panthers players and coaches about what it takes to reach a high standard."

That's pretty cool, actually. She came to motivate the players and coaches (even though she is a Philly native and proud Eagles fan).

I wonder if Jaycee and/or his girlfriend were the impetus behind the invite. Maybe it was the FO. In any event, I like it.

The players and the coaches can learn a thing, for sure, but it sounds like David Tepper could learn a lesson from Dawn Staley as well. She may have been talking to the ownership of the WNBA expansion team, the Portland Fire, but she may as well have been talking to David Tepper.

“Give them a voice as they unveil the team, give them a saying and perspective. [You] may not take [their ideas], but even if [they’re] being heard, [they] feel a part of it,” she said. “Don’t leave them out. Don’t wait until [the team’s] already established to start listening. Start listening now because I often find that when you treat people good, they treat you better.”

Staley doubled down on the importance of following her blueprint to build fan loyalty.

“I hope that the owners really give the fans what they want,” Staley advised. “Like, hear them out. They are the consumers; they are the people that’s gonna buy season tickets.”

Staley is talking about fans coming by her office, and Tepper won't even allow fans at practices. *Sigh*

“South Carolina has been the leader in attendance for the last 10 years in college basketball. Little old Columbia, South Carolina,” Staley stated. “Mom and pop, you can come past our office, you can sit down, you can have a conversation with us. We give you access to us.”

Dabo sighting. Dawn Staley sighting. Who's next?

well, that the 2 coaching goats of the Carolina's.  Not sure you can really add anyone else on par with them.

I'm cutting Belichick out and putting him to the side.  Clearly the GOAT.....but dude wants back into the NFL.  I doubt he has any interest in sharing/helping any NFL team out.   That's not very Belichicky.

    • Yes, but those guys aren't depth guard signings, they're likely going to wait and see who has injuries or players under performing and then sign there. I also think that if Ickey really is going to be able to play at some point this year, that's where our guard depth comes from.  As if he gets to the point of being active, we'd then have 3 LT's on the roster with him, Freeling, and Walker, gotta think one of them not named Freeling gets kicked inside if needed.
    • lol imagine being Hill and this is what your coach thinks about you replacing a guy giving up over 4 goals per game.
    • I don't think Tyreek is a bad player to play with on the field, for sure not in the same way that Diggs is, as he's a cancer on the field with how he acts, and wouldn't take kindly to being 2nd fiddle behind T-Mac. It's that Tyreek is just a terrible person who realistically shouldn't even be in the NFL, his insane athletic ability is why his off field transgressions have been overlooked.  If he was a WR3, no team would have kept him around, it was only that he was a 1st ballot HOF level talent that kept him around. Just zero interest in having a person like that around our young WRs, that's really all it comes down to for me with him. Again, if we were true contenders this year, that changes things and I'd rather bring in the best possible players and hope it works out.  But they're trying to build something here and to do that, you need high quality people, not just great talent.
