Wild to see a Panthers fan make that claim given our historical struggles at WR.

Yea lets see here.  When have I thought we were a WR factory?

We have 1999 with the triple threat of Muhsin Muhammad, one hit wonder Patrick Jeffers, and the up and coming Donald Hayes.  Jeffers career ended because of an injury and Hayes never panned out.

Then you have 2003 with Muhsin Muhammad, Steve Smith, and Ricky Proehl.  By 2005, we didn't have anyone besides Steve that could catch the ball.

That's like twice in our entire history.

I mean, our fourth leading franchise all-time receiver had 2500ish yards. That's fuging pathetic. LOL

Buddy, you can wish all you want for an elite defense but that isn't happening whether we got this ho-hum MLB on the roster or not. That takes a lot more time and investment than one transaction or one offseason.

This is Matt Rhule/Scott Fitterer era thinking. We are always one move away.

See, I agree with you about the "elite" defense part (we're at least a season away), but I don't know where you guys get off calling Lloyd JAG.

Eh. The Dolphins doubled down on what Tua does well, which is similar to what Bryce does well, and went out and got world class route runners with world class speed. The Dolphin's have lost because Tua has a concussion problem.

You help your quarterback and I think Bryce can be an All-Pro caliber player, based on what we saw last season, particularly when Adam got back. So rather than forcing the issue and taking guys who are very talented, but don't fit, I think you go get guys that fit what your QB does well. Golden would have been the perfect player for what Bryce does well.

As for Tet, he is a talent to be sure, but he has trouble creating separation. He had issues in Arizona with this, and he's had issues in camp. Nearly every ball against man coverage is contested, and that's not a good thing no matter who your QB is.

Tetairoa McMillan is outstanding reading defenses, is highly underrated going across the middle, and finds the soft spot in defenses and gets YAC after the catch. Any QB lives that.

He struggles a lot in pass coverage, IIRC. basically more suited to being a situational pass rusher. That's why he is likely expendable for them.

He was an overdrafted guy they reached on.

It could work. I’d love for it to work out and extract the best from Bryce and Tet. I just love guys that can beat coverage and get open. We haven’t had a lot of that as Panthers fans going back to Steve Smith, DJ Moore, and I guess CMC.

I like a good shake and go receiver.

Lloyd has been great from his first snap and only missed 4 or so games in 3 years. He is not a reason for jags defense suckage.

Then you have to stop and wonder why he might not be part of their long term plans when they're currently not paying anyone really on their offense yet.

This isn't Roquan Smith, and even then he went for a 2nd. Much rather give up a 4th or something for Lloyd than hurt or WR room.

Edit: And with BTJ, Hunter and Dyami Brown as 1, 2 and 3 why the fug would they want Coker?

If you're a first round pick that doesn't have his fifth year option picked up you're pretty much by definition a disappointment at best. Look down the list of the guys who had their fifth year option declined this year. Tyler Lindenbaum is the only player on the list who deserved to have it picked up but didn't largely because the Ravens also had safety Kyle Hamilton to also pick up an option on. Most with Ravens world expect him to be re-signed long-term.

It's the jags, no clue why they do what they do. Like Panthers there's been turn over over over over, I don't know the new GM habits or beliefs. Or if they are switching defense or _______ . DOesnt matter since Llyod is legit great at LBing.

True he's not top 3, but PFF top 15 overall ALL LB 2023 and 2024

New trend among teams, they are not doing 5th year options for OG and LB. Even if they are great. Do not ask me why they spent a 1st on LB or OG, just telling you what's happening.

My guess is no chance Hunter will double duties. Until he does, I believe he will only play around 10 snaps at WR and full time CB. Brown is one year and meh. SO they need a #2 and #3, thats perfect role for COker.

It's a perfect fair deal for jags and Panthers. If I was a jags fans, Id agree. Im 100% Panthers and agree too.

Draft pick is fine too. It's just the first time in a long time where Panthers have all their picks, they just got over the BY package and Fitttttterererererererer traded a lot of picks/future picks over the years.

I am gonna take a guess you haven't seen many Jags games in the time he has been there?

    • Cooter, Kurb, others have passed on to glory….  Praise be.
    • Oh good for them! Hope this is the start of a long happy time in their lives here.
    • There was no reason to believe in either Cam or Jake as a top tier elite QB before those seasons either. Cam was an "athletic" QB in most people's minds and his passing skills were open for debate. And there was a bit to that as he was still trying to get that massive power in his arm tamed to be able to put some touch on his passes. And then, he did it. Missiles became bombs, the firing lanes became points of finesse. Cam grew up and leveled up, while still retaining the ability and drive to truck people whenever he wanted. And Jake... no one freaking believed in Jake except Jake himself. He got, and let's be honest with this, one chance in a losing game to make something out of his career. And he rose to the occasion like some kind of mythical hero and continued to do so for the season. He became a true leader for the team, and his gunslinger capabilities rehabbed Moose's career and created Smitty as a force in the league. Smitty went from a barker to a biter. But no one believed in Jake going in. And they trashed him on his way out. Now Bryce... who knows? I've seen some improvement. Maybe he finds his footing. His teammates seem to love and respect him and that means a lot. The game should be moving at his speed now. He has weapons available to him and maybe a defense that doesn't just roll over by the third quarter. And his coach seems to be moving this team in the right direction. Could he do it? It's up to him, if he can find the magic like Jake and Cam did. But don't doubt this, magic is really, really hard to find.
