You know what’s embarrassing? Media/ social media touting someone who played in one preseason game as a star.

lets slow down the press grasshoppers. Until I see him play against ones against non Panther defense….and actually put up numbers I’m going to hold judgement

Remember when Anthony Richardson was about to set the world on fire?

I understand your thoughts process, but as players and prospects, the two are really different as night and day.

Shedeur looked the part of a legit NFL QB whose ceiling was starter and floor was a backup, and Richardson was always a project, projection, or a product of imagination.

If he had of played like crap last night he would be getting killed on social media right now.

What the media doesn't acknowledge is that he basically did play like crap until we were playing third stringers and camp bodies. He went 3/7 for 26 yards against our starters.

Man Gtfoh...it was his very first NFL game of his career. It doesn't matter what string it was against. He proved he belonged out there, which a lot of his critics wouldn't even give him that so far. And Cleveland didn't play their starters on offense with him at all... so it evens out. He went out there and performed with the same guys he has had to practice with up till now...camp bodies.

The media is about one thing….money. They will go with whatever narrative they think will create the most money/interest. By calling sanders a star, threads like this get started… the media knows they hit their target. They don’t give a sh*t about sanders either way.

Sanders made good, accurate throws.  Definitely NFL quality.  Whether or not the Panthers defense is bad, doesn't take away from what he was able to do in the game.  He has potential to be good in this league.  That said, I wouldn't say he dominated us or anything like that.  From the highlights of the game I watched, his better stuff came in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. (and by the 3rd, even the starters that were playing, were out)  And yes, I'm glad the Saints didn't take him.

I expected Shedeur to look decent but tbh he looked better than expected. Even the Browns' second-string OL has to feel like a massive upgrade over what he was playing behind at Colorado... I think he'll benefit from sitting and watching for a year but hey... if the Browns are going to throw somebody out there he gives them the most upside imo.

He looked about how I expected. People are going to say he held the ball too long on the scrambles but Patrick Mahomes does that 6 times a game. The same exact thing. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Scramble and find an open guy. that’s part of what makes Mahomes, Mahomes, ya know?

The two touchdowns were starting QB throws though. Jaxson Dart looked good too.

Cam Ward, to me, looked horrible. I know his stat line was okay but man his mechanics are the worst for a starting QB in the league right now. He threw more than half of his balls off of his back foot with zero pressure on him.

    • Rico walking is no big deal. I'll take a healthy 2024 Hubbard over Rico any time and losing Mays is, again, no a big deal.  Young is signed for what, $35M for the next two years? Say he wants $50M but the FO doesn't. If they put the franchise tag on him, that would be around $55? So basically they are getting Young for the next 3 years for an average of $30M per year. Putting the franchise tag on him wouldn't be my first choice but it gives them an option that wouldn't be locking him into a long term, $50M contract. I'm not suggestion they do that. Just that the option will be there should they get to that point. Hunt is on a 5 year deal which is done in 28 so he either restructures or is gone anyway. Moton will be 35 by then and will either be gone or have diminished playing time. Neither of those players has anything to do with getting Young a contract. The O line is way overpaid anyway. Hopefully by the time they are gone, Freeling and Hecht will be developed and Ickey will be healthy. Young was benched his second year and only got his job back because Dalton was injured. Not sure how you can call that entitled. And I would NOT say putting a rookie QB on a team with no receivers, tight ends or O lineman and then being put with a coach who never wanted you and is fired mid season, is a definition of luck. As far as competition, no team is going to bring in competition for a QB picked first overall - especially given the capital that was given up to get him.
    • With apologies to Lady Cowboy fan, any day we can screw over the Cowboys is a GOOD day…
    • Been here since 2014ish. Good times. Its a shame Zod wont sell, it wouldnt take that much effort to get this place back into shape.
