It seems like Bryce has really good chemistry with Thielen, T-Mac, and Coker. Everyone else is a work in progress on that front. When you consider that Theilen is well past his prime and could very possibly be entering his final season in the NFL, there's no way in hell I'm trading Coker unless the offer was just over the top absurdly generous. Honestly, the #1 goal this season should be trying to get the answer on Bryce Young moving forward. Moving Coker for some bandaid defensive piece or future draft assets that may or may not pan out would just be wildly idiotic which gives the history of Tepper's Panthers makes it frighteningly likely. LOL

I would include Renfrow in that group, just saying.

I sure hope it's T-Mac but I won't be surprised in the least of Coker becomes the #2. At this point I'd already have him there and would've told XL it's up to him to earn it back, your draft status has carried you as far as it's going to carry you. We're playing the best players.

If we get an elite WR, I can accept either but whiffing on two straight 1st round WR's would be a big nail in the FO's coffin, IMO.

At the bare minimum, TMac needs to be a good starter for 8-10 years as his floor.

Injuries aside, agreed.

Hope Lewis is healthy and ready to go by week 1

Its the same shoulder he played through all of last year... I think he would be playing if the games mattered. Still cant help but think he should have had it repaired in the off season.

Or just generally trying guys out every few weeks. Either way, tough situation.

@BasbearYou still trying to trade that dude?

Glad someone is looking good!

Not really wanting to trade him, just trying to fix LB corps with a young dog and looking at the WR depth.

Just reminding all the cokeheads- he played 5 total ST snaps last season. 5!

GameDay Most teams including the Panthers only activate 4 WRs. That's one less than his ST snaps..... The odds are XL, Tmac, AT, and renfrow will be the 4 *if healthy. Now you could start the XL vs Coker and have a case to bench XL, I still think XL is starting even with him boxing recently. Coker is in a number deal, not his fault, just the Panthers have added enough for a player like Coker not to be activated. I'd even say if the percent for #4-6 is weighed with ST in mind, Jimmy horn maybe ahead of Coker on the scale.

Brother, Coker is ahead of XL and likely Renfrow due to injuries. One could certainly make a strong argument he has been far better than TMac so far.

I think you are undervaluing him.

Watch this season. And watch that Jags crush of your continue to prove to be a very flawed off ball LB.

That could be right, he's got hot in the last week and garnered attention. Im remaining with the notion he's #5/6 on the picking order. Those back end WRs must play ST.....now if he keeps making plays and pushing everyone down on his way to #1, he doesn't have to care about ST

I need the edit the ST snaps with Coker last year, he played in 31 not 5. 5 was this past pre-season game.

Coker would have caught that pass against Philly last year. Just saying

Renfro at this point has to prove he can even make it onto the field and then the question is how long will he be healthy. I get people like him and he's a local story but honestly the longer this injury with him drags out the less likely I see him sticking.

XL possesses legitimate talent to be at least a very solid 2 IMO but we are rapidly approaching the point where he needs to string together some consistent games of high end production. It has to happen soon.

Coker however has emerged as a significantly reliable target and he has developed a clear rapport with the starting QB. He isn't going anywhere. And he will assuredly be active on gamedays. We would be absolute clowns to not keep him and find out what his ceiling is.

Renfro has been craving up every panther DB. He does have to remain healthy, just like every other player.

XL and Coker seem to be close, just XL was drafted with higher expectations. I mean if XL keeps screwing around while Coker keeps making plays after play, XL will be inactive on game-days.

Im glad Panthers finally have enough WR for there to be discussions on GameDay, cuts, and starters. Welcome to the modern NFL, it only took 30 years.....

Coker plays on ST now. Check out what the Canales said after the game, he also mentioned him today in the press conference.

    • I can say that I have defended Canales because I get that they are doing all they can to keep from looking like idiots for drafting Bryce, from the trade up to signing $150m guards to drafting XL and Brooks etc---nothing seems to work.  And Hiring Canales was part of the Bryce Young rehab program, so so he can't really decide to "move on."  That has to come from Morgan and Tepper. Personally, I think Bryce is due for an injury.  He is small, he is not thick, and he has been a LOT more healthy than most any other QB has who has endured so much pressure.  The thing that bothers me is this---Bryce really does not go through his progressions quickly.  He locks on to his presnap read and stays locked onto him for too long--he seems to fail to anticipate the WR/TE's positioning on the play before the cut--for example, if the WR is running a dig and the CB has his back to the inside of the field, he should be open for a second or less just after the cut.  He seems to wait until the cut has been made before deciding, then checking down quickly while moving in the pocket. OL:  There seems to be a lack of communication--is that on Mays?  Watch this team presnap--they seem a bit confused at times.   I can almost predict the success rate of the play by watching the center and QB before the snap.
    • Anyone else remember back in 2010 when Fox piloted having music under the in-game replays during one of Carolina's games? Not the commercial bumpers but the actual replay clips that the announcers would talk over. Pretty sure it was vs the 49ers. And it was terrible. Point being, Carolina continues being so bad that we get the networks trying things out during their games.
    • Is it bad I found this video more hilarious than pathetic? I am still laughing at that one play where half the people on the field ran into each other and Bryce still couldn't see Chuba wide open... Also laughing at Cade blocking nobody and somehow losing his cleat Man this offense is a poo show
