This is like saying "yeah, I'd trade a double wide trailer, an '82 Firebird that's not running, and a scratch off lottery ticket for your mansion... oh, and I'm only willing to pay half the property taxes"

With the poo going on in my life right now I need a good laugh.  Thanks - you gave it to me .

They aren’t going to get their asking price. Bengals aren’t going to trade him to a division rival. He will go to Indy most likely.

You could probably get him for Corbett OR Christensen, One of the rookie edges OR Wonnum and like a 3rd.

but I’m not really a fan of it.

Corbett and BC are basically worth very little.

That's one reason why I don't want to get involved in a trade if they want a lot of compensation. We have little in the way of valuable players, almost all of them we shouldn't be considering giving up. That leaves draft compensation carrying the weight if we don't give up a big player. Also something we shouldn't be giving up.

The Bengals are absolutely delusional if they think they are gonna get anything close to that asking price. Just look back to the Brian Burns trade where we only got a 2nd, a 5th and a additional 5th round conditional pick in the following draft. Burns was in his prime at age 26 wanting 30 million a year and while Hendrickson might be a reasonably better player he's going to be 31 this season and is also seeking a contract around 30 million a year also.

You can argue whether you would've made the Burns deal or not but the point is that a precedent was set for what an elite pass rusher going into their franchise tag year was worth.

I'd offer them a 3rd and they can pick 2 between DJ wonnum, Adam Thelien or a 5th round pick.

As for the contract something like 3 years at 30 million seems like a good fit and I trust Brant Tillis to make the numbers work with the cap.

More valuable for them than us. Their OL is 2021 for us bad. I’ll be shocked if Burrow plays 10 games this season tbh.

David Moore?

He has no value to them. He isn't a tradeable asset.

The rub is that he is going to want a big contract because it is likely his last chance. $20 mil is very unlikely to work.

That's the real thing about all this, you have to be sure you can extend him or it was all for naught.

This isn’t Madden where you could send DJ Johnson straight up for him

lol at everyone calling me crazy but ignoring my very next line saying he’d cost us more than that trade.

My point was if we can get him for a player we’re gonna cut and the player he’d replace in the lineup, without giving up even a 3rd, and getting him on a deal cheaper than he wants, then yea, I’m in.

But not at the cost of what the Bengals will want and the contract he’ll need, not for a 31 year old when we have two promising rookies who need snaps this year.

BC wouldn't start there and Corbett is a massive injury risk.

If they wanted BC, they literally could have signed him in free agency.

We have zero players on this roster that a single NFL team would trade for that are on the cut line. That's a downside of having the worst roster in the league.

Well yeah, everyone would trade trash for treasure. That goes without saying.

It’s says the want 2 impact players and draft picks.

we literally only have 2 impact quality players on the entire roster

They aren't going to get that from anyone for Hendrickson. He is on the wrong side of 30 and gonna be very pricey to boot.

They are going to Bungle it.

Sure, they won’t get their ask but I would assume it’s draft picks we can’t afford or one player we can’t

Yeah, that is why I don’t think we will do it.

We haven't made any horrifying trades under Dan yet. If that does happen, I suppose we have our answer at GM. We need a new one.

    • Just going off the draft sims and he's always sitting around 20 lol. First year in a while where we haven't been thinking about the draft already in late October so haven't really looked into the top 15-20 picks yet. Also the qb class is super weak so he probably will sneak up into 10-15
    • I fully expect them to pick up his 5th year , and they're waiting for him to put a full excellent consistent season of QB play in year 4 or 5. If that don't happen,  they'll eventually cut ties.  Here's to hoping he just goes on a team in 2026. The worst thing he could do is continue to see-saw us to around .500 records because it might be impossible to replace him at that point unless youre willing to do the veteran qb carousel poo we did from 2019 to 2023.
    • What do you think of Bryce Youngs career thus far? Are you excited about his progress or is it not enough for you? I included a poll of ranking his performance through 3 years thus far.  I personally think he's made some decent progress. Has had some high moments (last half of 2024, Rams game, ATL game in 2025)  but in my mind, those are still outweighed by the many more lowlights thus far (ex turnovers, missed throws, poor decisions)  It's a very mixed bag for me. He's done enough to get a 5th year option but by no means should we lock him in with a 50+ mil a year multi year deal. I want to see him play consistently well for a full year before that happens (yes, I'm still saying that going into year 4. That might be telling).  Just sucks when you see CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniel's, Caleb Williams almost immediately lighting poo up with their arm talent. Maybe Bryce is just an ultra slow burn. I don't know what to think anymore. Guess we're gonna be stuck with him for a whilr unless we end up being bad enough to earn a high pick next year. I doubted it lol. Overall Stats for his career:       ● 14 W - 30L (regular season)       ● 0-1 playoffs record        ● 61.4% completion, 8291 passing yards, 49 TDs, 30 INTs  Year 1:       ● 2 wins, 14 losses      ● 60% completion rate, 2877 passing yards, 11 TD to 10 INTs, 5.5 yards per attempted pass Year 2:        ● 4 wins , 8 losses        ● 60.9% completion rate,  2403 passing yards, 15 TD, 9 INTs,  6.3 yards per attempted pass  Year 3:        ● 8 Wins, 8 Losses         ● 63.6% competition rate, 3011 passing yards, 23 TDs to 11 INTs  Playoffs         ● 1 game in year 3 ( 0 - 1 in playoffs)         ● 21/40 (52.5% completion rate), 264 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
