That and several other similar instances showed me that the Panthers never have and never will be a SC representing team.

Ratio of UGA fans to Falcons fans outside of Atlanta is at least 20:1. Even in the city UGA dominates. Hell, there are probably more Bama fans here than Falcons.

Old school SEC states are a tough sell for pro football.

could be waiting till everyone gets in this morning so they can turn in their playbooks

Beware the turk

We are one of like 6 teams with no released players yet (at least to the public).  It seems like the past year or so instead of doing phased cuts, which we have traditionally done, the names are held back until the list is almost/completely finalized.

We have without question one of the worst QB rooms in the league and your key concern is people having the audacity to be talking about it lol.

The worst case scenario is that we have two backup caliber QB's. Well the Browns have maybe 2 and some PS guys.

Who cares? If Bryce isn't the answer it just is what it is.

I have no idea why you people keep thinking there is some fuging savior just floundering away on an AFL/CFL/XFL team or PS. Those guys are there for a reason. The examples of that working out are literally as outlier as you can get.

Courtesy of Mike Kaye, teams in front of the Panthers on the waiver wire:

1. Tennessee Titans
2. Cleveland Browns
3. New York Giants
4. New England Patriots
5. Jacksonville Jaguars
6. Las Vegas Raiders
7. New York Jets

Also mentions watching out to see if the Panthers designate anybody as IR-DTR like they did with Crumedy last season which effectively redshirted him for 12 weeks to learn behind the scenes.

Jared Feinberg mentioned that we may hear a few Panthers cuts today and to expect to hear the majority of them tomorrow afternoon.

Any today will be injury related or released with some designation other than released/waived, I suspect.  I agree, < 90% will be tomorrow, and most--if not all--in the afternoon.

SO far, the only cut candidate I MIGHT want to consider is Chad Muma, a former third rounder with the Jags.  However, the Panthers are getting some smoke from a few LBs that was unexpected, so I am not sure.  Muma is 26 and may just need a different scheme, but I would call him mediocre vs the run and pass, and slightly below mediocre rushing the passer.  I still think there is potential there....call me cra

I'm eagerly waiting to see if he hits the waiver wire. Would provide some more potential upside to the current LB room.

It really wasn't that bad going into the offseason. Wallace/Jewell/Rozeboom/Cherelus/Rhattigan gave us a youngster/vet duo with three ST/back-up guys. Losing Jewell before things even kicked off though was a shot I don't think anybody saw coming. It reduced the room to a young guy + four special teamers.

Why do we keep circling back to this being about a savior? Nobody is asking for a franchise QB. We aren't looking for "the" answer. We're looking for someone younger with any level of potential that will give this young offensive roster the chance to develop in what is in all likelihood not going to be a winning season in the event Bryce Young goes backwards again. Nobody in this offense is going to develop one iota with Andy Dalton Jack Plummer or Bryce Perkins. This is about what is best for our young roster. We cannot afford to continue squandering these seasons of potential development if we ever want to establish a new core and begin making a playoff push at any point before 2030.

    • Two things: 1. Dr. Eric Eager is central to the draft process 2. I know that it was edited, but we didn't hear "Thieneman" one time, not even before the Vikings pick.
    • Why would he sign here as a guard when surely someone would sign him as a tackle?  Assuming he is healthy
    • Went back to watching the highlights. With a sober mind haha. Here is what I saw.    freddie needs to make 1 of those but the rest aren’t on him.    Slavin was BBBBAAAD again last night. Not sure what is going on with these game one Slavin gafs.    miller was ok but had his worst game in the playoffs so far.    nikishin was no good. His his awful turnover led to the first goal at the end of the first period that just can’t happen. ghost was beat like a drum multiple times last night, including the go-ahead goal at the end jarivs wont shoot. He is either hurt or he is struggling mentally and I think it could be a combination of both. He passed up a wide open net on the power-play only to pass it to no one and cleared it himself.     Svech played well. He is getting zero help on that line.    aho. Worst game as a pro. I mean that. He won’t shoot it, passes go to no one and turns it over repeatedly.  He did exactly what they did against Montreal game one when Miller had a turnover. Aho left his man to go help and left the golden Knight player wide open in front of Freddie.  If I was Rod, you Tell Aho when that thing hits your stick you fire it  someone needs to sit him down just him in a room and ask what’s going on. He seems soft, timid and has zero fire.   canes could have won that game   There isn’t a gap between these two teams  they are dead even   Carter Hart’s gonna get lit up in this series. We can beat that guy. the consensus last night was our defense played horrible and our stars won’t score.  clean the defense up. Tell the top line to shoot it everything and we’ll win tomorrow night.   Possibly convincingly.
