Thielen traded

Getting a 4th round pick for Thielen at this age and salary is pretty good. It'll likely hurt us short term though unfortunately, now I definitely want Renfrow back.

Not enthused, but basically getting him for a fourth and a pick swap. Not terrible I guess.

It's not a true pick swap because the years are different. They are trading lower third of the round picks for top 10 in the round picks, though. 

I would say they did win this trade.

I’m fine ride or die. We had Theilen for 2025 and then he’s gone. We get to move up to better picks and the young guys get their opportunity.

I do find it laughable that Theilen not being here might stunt Young’s growth. JFC, for all the guys who think Morgan is doing a great job, we’ve give up 2023 pick 9, 2024 pick 1, 2024 pick 32 and 2025 pick 8.

If Adam Theilen being gone makes our passing offense go to poo after spending 3 top 10 picks and another 1st rounder, then we best fire the entire coaching and front office and start our rebuild the right way in 2026.

is that a reflection on him simply wanting to go home (something he could do in Jan) or him seeing us in the preseason and wanting to play with a contender on his last ride? hmmmmmmmmm.......

Absolutely. Once Thielen’s agent leaked his desire to go back to Minnesota to Adam Schefter on Monday night the Panthers lost their leverage

Not terrible if we aren’t eating much of his salary. 

We turned our 5th into a 4th in 2027

And gained a 2026 6th rounder (a conditional 7th is UDFA territory)

Oof, not a fan. We basically got a 2027 fourth and swapped fifth round picks in different years. Who gaf about the conditional 7th. Just feels like he had more value to us than that even for just one season.

I don't know that the Vikings are a contender. Generally whenever they're expected to be really good, they suck (source: my dad, who's been a Minnesota fan for more than 55 years).

Probably just wanted to retire there and give it a shot one more time.
